I prefer the uniform look. I understand people might prefer customisation, but that's what you can already do with your logo, projects, featured projects and description sections.

I have noticed that lately people feel like there profiles don't stand out enough. I believe this is one of the reasons people did the moving thumbnail hack for their projects, to try and be noticed. I think it would be fun and helpful to those who feel “lost in the crowd” and anyone else if you made it possible to customize your profile wallpaper (image below) because, after all, your profile is the first thing people see and you want it to look interesting!

Notice the empty space on the sides?

An example of this is something you can do on ask.fm (CreativeRarity's profile)

If the wallpaper is inappropriate, rude, or disrespectful you could just report it the same way you report a icon or just report the user. But if we do do this then it would not be from a list of things because the would ruin the point.

Notice the wallpaper? Also notice that it is just the same image over and over again so even if you have a small image it won't be much of a problem

Support. the grey background on everyone's profile is just so bland! You can replace it with like a gif or a picture! I agree with the report part, if it's inapropiate, we should be able to report it

I suport this. It would be a great way to make profiles much more memorable from eachother. Also why don't we have the way it looks now the starting background so it will be up to the person if they want to make their profile look out of place with the rest of the website or not. Also should their be a template that can be used as a guideline to which part of the image will go where on the profile so people can try to make them clash less.

I think it wouldn't suit the site at all. With this every profile page will look different, inconsistent and personally worse.
Mobile devices will suffer as well if they need to load and show a giant background image for every new profile. It would slow down the website and make it almost impossible for some phones/tablets/old computers to use the scratch site.
Background images are also very distracting and can make it very difficult to view the actual content of the page, the projects.
I hope that didn't sound too harsh but no support from me.
