Welcome to The Furry Fandom Topic. This is the topic to discuss the furry fandom, furries, etc.
Here you can talk about your favorite fursuits, fursonas, furries, animals, and commissioners with a bunch of other people from the fandom. It's a place to express your feelings and enjoy who you are, without anybody judging you (I hope). Here I hope to bring together the whole Scratch community of furries to have friendly discussions and so and such. Please feel free to post pictures!

PLEASE NOTE: This forum is for the fandom, NOT the fetish. Sexual content is NOT permitted.
(It's okay to like that sort of thing, jut express yourself somewhere else.)

A furry is anybody who likes anthropomorphic animals, hence the reason that the biggest furry con, AnthroCon, got it's name. If you like anthropomorphic animals in any way, you are a furry. Don't worry, there are different levels of being a furry.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

On a side note, fursuits are very expensive (upwards of 3,000 dollars!) and are a luxury, not a necessity, so think of it as an expensive pet if you want to get one.

Do these count?:

Llamarkart (Lacking the rope thingy. This was the first image I ever drew of her)

Treetop (Second image I made of her. She was originally just going to be a one time cameo, but I liked her, so I used her as a proper character)

Treetop's older sister, Branches (Not exactly the art style I use for her. Another image is below: )

For some reason, intensely human animals appear disturbing to me.

I SWEAR I'M NOT A FURRY, EVEN THOUGH I LIKE ANIMALS.

I'm honestly not sure if I'm a furry or not.
I mean, I don't have a fursona or any OC's or anything, but I like the non inappropriate fan art and things relating to antromorphism.

Here's a little lesson in memery.

Llamarkart- Speaks English & Japanese, plays video games, but stands on 4 feet.

Treetop- She's heard of the song Lush Life (she listens to it) and she's from Hyrule.

Branches- Once accessed the real world, so that's where the human/tall Branches' came from:

I thought all furry characters were animals.

I'm actually a furry.. but this doesn't mean I have any intent in finding this stuff attractive
Anyway, I am planning to make a fursuit someday. Probably make a sea otter fursona and then make it into a costume.
Maybe I'll make more.
I don't know.

4 - One Of “Those” Furries. Includes those who get a little too in touch with their animal side (Otherkin/Lifestylers) or who bring all kinds of fetishes into the mix. Can get rather Squicky, and are often subject to ridicule or outright disgust, even by other furries.
3 - Regular Furry Fan. Roleplays, has a fursona, collects art and stories, attends cons, haunts the websites, and is generally obsessed…er, passionate about the furry world. May or may not have an anthropomorphism fetish, but otherwise “normal.”
2 - Honorary Furry Fan. Feels comfortable around them and appreciates their works, but is not very active in the community (no cosplaying, congoing, etc.)
1 - The Tangentially Related Artist. Has a non-fandom rationale behind featuring anthro characters in their works (Furries Are Easier to Draw, after all) but may still appreciate their attention, even if they think them rather odd.
0 - The Neutral. Unsure of their relationship to the Fandom, or just indifferent.
-1 - The “Mundane”. Definitely not a furry, but doesn't tend to mind them, except for those approaching type 4.
-2 - The Mildly Squicked. A little uncomfortable around furries, and may ask them to keep to themselves. Still capable of civility.
-3 - Regular Anti-Furry. Generally has a NIMBY attitude towards furries and wants them off their forums/chatrooms/other regular haunts so they don't have to deal with them.
-4 - One Of “Those” Anti-Furries. Committed Blind Basher incapable of being reasoned with. Unlike the previous category, the mere existence of furries seems to enrage them, causing them to actively seek furries out and harass them, or otherwise post malicious comments about them at every opportunity. To them, all furries are type 4, and therefore must die.

I'd probably be a 0 or -1 on that. (But I'm following this topic anyway ‘cause most furries I’ve seen/met are positive people and a Scratch topic with happy discussion is what I need right now.)

On your scale I'm probably between 2 and 3.
