Yeah, no one has asked for a game jam in a while… Perhaps I overestimated the demand for a platform to host Scratch game jams, lol.

I think there would be tons more people who would want to use it - but since so little people use the forums this isn't getting a lot of attention.

What do you suggest then? Maybe I could make a project about it?

That's a good idea - that will definitely attract more attention towards this.

Okay, I will make a project once I find the time.

[offtopic] @Chiroyce@CST1229, I recently saw that you've put online a modified version of the Scratch editor: Scratch CE (Community Edition). It sounds interesting, what is it about? [/offtopic]

I've never done that (never even modified Scratch in the first place) - can you share a link to it?

Also was the flame theme added recently? It looks really cool!

Sorry, I confused you with @CST1229. Both of your usernames start with a “C” and both of your have blue profile pictures. Sorry, again! (Here is a link to Scratch CE by the way.)

I was testing CSS variables and forgot to remove the Flame theme (it's not complete).

A serious issue I find, that in my opinion degrades the look and feel of your site. Is the low resolution images. To fix this, you should provide at least 9 high resolution icon images to choose from based on category.

Because this doesn't look very good

I also think the UI will be mildly improved from a subtle additional padding to the elements.
Or you can simply request the use of SVGs for icons, and direct them to InkScape. (PNGs are honestly a pain to work with ngl)
Or a javascript upscaler, hmm?

Okay, that's feasible.

Which elements in particular?

Honestly, I don't think that would be a fair requirement but maybe I could add a note to encourage people to use higher resolution thumbnails.

[Incubator RC.2.0 is AVAILABLE FOR TESTING] Itinerary: Scratch Game Jams & More (itinerary.eu.org)

I've been experimenting with a new design for Itinerary that addresses most of my concerns with the current website. Also, I would like to expand the scope of this project to go beyond game jams.

Here is how the homepage looks so far:

Notable changes:
  • This new website is written in Next.js for several reasons.
    - The React ecosystem is vast and thus allows for faster development, especially when it comes to asking for help from others
    - Next.js allows me to have the code for the backend API in the same folder as the frontend, meaning that I would no longer need an external Node.js + Express.js backend. Therefore, API requests would be more instantaneous, and I could host the website using just one service (eg. Vercel) instead of having to use two, possible separate services for it (eg. I'm currently using Vercel to deploy my frontend, Replit to host my backend, and Cloudflare to manage everything DNS)
    - More smaller benefits.
  • I redesigned the look and feel of the site but I kept some design aspects from Scratch.
  • I named the project “Scratch Incubator”, though I might change this name in the future.

Please do let me know your opinions and whether you would like to see me move forward with this new design!

Incredible! I love it a lot; I think it should be the new design.

Sorry if I'm too serious sounding on the forums. I don't usually realize it until I've already posted.

That's great to hear, I though people would miss the Scratch-like design.

Honestly, I don't really care much for Scratch's design. I prefer more “modern” looking sites like the one you're designing.
