Constructive criticism is welcome. I'm particularly interested to hear whether the instructions and interactive help feature that I've implemented offer enough assistance for people who are new to playing text adventures.

Length of gameplay/animation:

Probably 30+ hours of gameplay!

Any other notes:

This Scratch game is actually a trilogy of adventures! When you first start, it will ask which adventure you want to play. Red Moon is number 2. Note that I didn't write the adventure itself - Red Moon was actually awarded “adventure of the year” in 1985. What I've done is to program an interpreter in Scratch that allows all of Level 9's original adventures to be played in Scratch. There's no real need to review the graphics or sound as the graphics are directly from the original game and there are no sound effects. I've added various enhancements, but the adventure itself is unaltered from the original award-winning format. The possible problem with a review is that text adventures take a long time to get immersed into. But, as I said, I'm particularly interested to hear of any problems from the point of view of someone who hasn't played any (or many) text adventures before.

As I suspect this will take a while to review, whenever you're able to fit it in to your schedule is fine.

I hope you enjoy the game (and, if you do, every single one of the Level 9 adventures are available to play in my adventures studio in addition to every single Scott Adams adventure).

Speed- N/A/10 There isn't much to say, There is too less in the project but don't let that stop you from making more! You can always add more types of designs like maybe colour change, letting people draw their designs, The possibilities are endless. Try hooking in the player for more time!
Lag/Glitches- 10/10 None that I know of!
Storyline- N/A/10
Instructions- 8/10 Easy to use but try adding in-game instructions
Ease of use and transitions- 10/10 No transitions needed but it was very easy to use!
Art- 2/10 The art could be more creative and as I said earlier, the more features you add, the better!
Engagement- 2/10 There is hardly any thing to hook the player but as I said, this could be really improved on!
Originality- 5/10 The concept isn't new, try adding your own unique features! There are so many things that can be done to he project
Sound- N/A/10 There wasn't any sound in the project but that can easily be fixed.
Overall rating-53(1/3) /100: Overall I'd say that this project really needs improvement but has very good potential, if you add the right things, this could even be featured! I admit the score isn't really high but your project has potential and if you improve it, I suggest that more features be added like maybe changing the colour of the phone or maybe some more designs. If your stuck with coding or art work, this shop will gladly help you.

Hardness- 7/10 (It was a little bit too hard. I feel like there were to many enemies.)
Speed- 8/10 (I wish the enemies were slower.)
Lag/Glitches- 4/10 (There's a lot of lag and glitches when I press the arrow keys. It might be helpful if the Scratch cat just glided to the next “tile,” instead of getting stuck along the way.)
Storyline- 7/10 (I feel like a bit of storyline in the instructions would be nice.)
Instructions- 5/10 (The instructions really need some work, from the grammar to the actual content. I can help with that if you need it.)
Ease of use and transitions- 5/10 (Hmm…I don't know exactly how to describe it. It was a just a bit laggy and annoying to transition.)
Art- 1/10 (There is a tiny bit of non-Scratch art. I feel like there should be more original art, and different fonts would be nice too.)
Engagement- 8.5/10 (It was really engaging, and I just had to get through the first level. During the second level, I got discouraged when I died and didn't really want to play again.)
Originality- 9/10 (This reminds me of blastarena.io, which is an .io game that I really enjoy, although not many people play it, so I figured that it wasn't inspired by that. Otherwise, it seems pretty original. Although, the text and sprites, as mentioned above in the Art section.)
Sound- N/A, although it would be nice if there were some sound effects and background noise.
Overall rating- 54.5/90
This game is currently fulfilling 1/2 to 2/3 of its true capability.

I didn't put the editor in the review, but I really liked the editor. The preview pane (in the editor) would be a bit better with a more subtle colors.

Unfortunately, I have a bug that won't let me add any sound to projects… Maybe you could help me with that?
Hmmm, never happened to me before. You did try uploading a sound in the sound tab didn't you? If you tried putting a sound script in your backpack then that won't work. What I always have done is I downloaded the music to my computer (make sure it is MP3 or else you may have to convert it). Then go to the sprite I want the sound in and there should be a sound tab right next to the scripts and costumes tab (top right). Once you get to the sounds tab there should a button that allows you to upload sounds from your computer. If you need a project to better understand the directions better, I think I can find or make a project with instructions for you .

I made a game called "The True Ninja". It may sound like a rip-off to @Will_Wams the ninja series but I made it quite a bit different. The second game is out is now out and in my opinion, is much better than the first. Click here to see some other games I made!

I am willing to help, as long as it is in my capability to do so. (I think I am a decent programmer but not the best artist).

When asking help (to me or anyone else), attempt first, if you encounter trouble, that's when you ask help. If I created your scripts, then it would be hard for you to understand what they do. If you attempted but it did not work out, you will at least have an idea of what each script does and it will be easy to identify the modifications that made your script work. TLDR; Try, and ask help if if it does not work out

yup. 30+ hours

Does nobody want to review this one? I'm not expecting it to be played to completion

NOTE: This project is great but I don't think I can complete the project as I have other stuff to do but I'll try to do the best review I can anyway! I didn't take this project because I was not sure I'd finish.
Hardness- 9/10 This is hard enough to keep me playing for quite some time, I think this part was good.
Speed- 8/10 Well this thing takes ages to complete and that's the only problem
Lag/Glitches- 18/10 I didn't find any and the project is so big, Great job but however there was lag but that didn't do too much.
Storyline- 10/10 I did like the story but I couldn't go through all of it
Instructions- 7/10 Well the problem here is that I didn't understand at all what to do first and I didn't do a good job understanding the info option but I think it was good. I suggest making the info tab more visible and also renaming the info tab into something like instructions as that makes it easier to spot
Ease of use and transitions- 6/10 I'm sure the older scratchers would understand but think about it there are pretty young people in scratch and they might find the project hard to understand
Art- 8/10 I liked the art a lot and the only think I could improve is the background but even that is good.
Engagement- 7/10 Now this field really depends because there are various levels of readers. A good reader would be engaged but I'm sure many people will go through the entire project. Some people may just get bored out since there is a lot of reading but I still think this is good. Maybe try to make the writing a little brighter as that will make people feel like reading a little better. May not seem like it effects but it actually does, that's why kids books are brightly coloured as our brains (most people) like that better!
Originality- 5/10 It was inspired but something already existing so can'r really give on this category.
Sound- N/A/10 There isn't any sound but the right music can make this project so much better!
Overall rating- 86(2/3) /100: I liked the idea and project very much! This project is great but can be improved on some fields. The concept, the work and the story is quite good but you have to remember that not all scratchers will find this easy to use. To be honest, I'm pretty sure some students in my own grade will not like it much because they probably will not understand how to use it. Usually I keep my in-game instructions at the very beginning so that it's hard to miss. Maybe not the commands in the beginning but an basic explanation on how things work in side the game. That way, I'm sure less people will be puzzled by it.

Thank you for shopping at the space shop. Please leave a review and spread the word if you like it! An advertisement for your game has been put on our post. If you are not happy with this, just comment so and we will remove it. If you add some of my suggestions I would love to be notified so that I can check them out. You may even want another review!

Also, please don't spam scratchblocks. I know that you probably don't mean to, but it's a bit annoying when you do.

NOTE: This project is great but I don't think I can complete the project as I have other stuff to do but I'll try to do the best review I can anyway! I didn't take this project because I was not sure I'd finish.

I thought 30+ hours of game-play might be a little off-putting for a reviewer Thanks for tackling it! I appreciate the feedback - especially about the potential difficulty for younger players to get into the game. I'm going to make the instructions more detailed and allow the player to see them before starting the game.

Great review. Thanks very much.
