Maybe when you combine FaQ and directory into one add a symbol next to the “Frequently Asked” entries?
e.g.
* How to change my signature?
(description)

Then it would be easier to sift through and you could mix the frequently asked questions into the proper category on the directory.

I think it would be worth considering this:

I like PFTV's style when she owned the dictionary. She had stars next to important topics and X's next to outdated ones…. Isn't that worth adding?

Sorry I didn't reply to this at first, by the way.

Anyway… I never found those markers useful, plus it just seems like they're more work because they have to be updated every once in a while.

If an answer is outdated, I'll just update it or remove it. And I don't see the point in letting the reader know if a topic is important. Plus, it's subjective. On the last topic “Is rick-rolling allowed?” was marked with a star, but I personally don't see why that is more important that everything else.

I have a suggestion- maybe add on to the necroposting section like how to stop it and how to detect if a post could be accidently necroposted or if was necroposted

You're not the only one to start a directory recently. LegoManiac04 owns the one for Suggestions, and I own the one for Bugs and Glitches! Quite a coincidence…

By the way, @LegoManiac04 took that over a long time ago, and it's actually being re-remade by @fdreerf.

And this isn't technically new (kind of). It's more of a merge.

You can't stop it.

There is no difference as it is extremely rare for someone to purposefully necropost.

Do you think that users asking about private messaging is asked often enough to be worth adding here?

No, I don't think so.

You don't have to bump stickies, they're always at the top

aII toasters toast toast, but what happens when there are no longer toasters being produced? will their technology simply become obsolete, with humans moving onto bigger, better things? will toast become a distant memory, written in textbooks of the future as foods us simpler generations ate? who's to say! society is constantly moving, changing, evolving, ideas being built upon, improved upon, theories being proven or disproven. are we but a blip on the timeline? sure, our names may not be remembered, but that's not the point. you can make a change. you can make a difference. you can make the world better, even if you don't know yet. and the first step is to go for it. even if you are afraid of failure. going back to the example of toasters, do you know off the top of your head who invented them? no? have you used one? probably. so, even if you don't remember my name, if I was able to help awnser your question, that is enough. if I was able to help you, even in the slightest way, this could push you to continue with scratch and not give up after the program crashes, and maybe one day learn other programming languages and change the world. everything is a cause and effect reaction, new inventions lead to the technology of the future, and even as the generations of the past are slowly forgotten, their influence lives on to this day, affecting how the world eventually turned out and how it will be for generations to come.

and, without toasters, we wouldn't have toast.

Could you add “who was the first user” to the Frequently Asked Questions section?

By the way, it's @andersmh.

Don't you think that “why doesn't the Scratch Team implement suggestions” topics are frequent enough to appear on the list?

Dude, I've seen many. I'll go ahead and link them for proof.

A good majority of those are quite old and were asked a long time ago, and I don't think it's asked enough to be considered a frequently asked question (as the most recent one was asked a couple weeks ago)

If by “a couple weeks” you mean “two days”, let me just say it's going to keep continuing on and on. Just look in some of the topics; even some forum helpers (I'm referring to users who are not the OP) are confused by it.
