We shouldn't add a dark mode. It would hurt the site alot. I can explain.

This would be very very complex for the devs. They'd have to check every feature on the site to make sure it works right in light mode and dark mode.
Compatibility issues would also pop up. They'd spend tons of time making sure people can use it on any device or browser.
If they actually solved #2, there would still have to be many design inconsistencies to get there.
It would take time away from the devs adding more important features. Aesthetics aren't top priority.
Even though alot of people like dark mode, not everyone does. Some people think it's ugly or distracting. Even if some users like it, there will still be complaining, which is the last thing Scratch needs.
It would be hard for people with vision impairment to be able to read. Some people find that white text on a black background strains their eyes, and that white text on black background strains their eyes because of the brightness.

I know dark mode's something people seem to like here, I hope you can understand my points

How do you know that a lot of people won't like it? Have you surveyed everyone on Scratch and asked them their opinion on dark mode?
And again, if they don't like it, then they shouldn't turn it on. If someone is so mad that there's an option for something they don't like, this isn't a Scratch issue, that person just needs to grow up.
