I assume you got it working again post the maintenance weekend with the rename trick? But now you seem to saying you can't pre-read Cloud Variables at all now, all you can do is set them and get them recorded on the new Cloud Servers. Is that right? That sounds so much worse than it already was.

I'm not really sure anymore, it's just RokCoder mentioned that his Uno games weren't working because of the cloud check, so I looked at my Battle Tanks game (which I think is the only one I put a cloud check in), and that wasn't working. The fields had previously been renamed.

I'm so tired of this.

EDIT: I just remembered another one, Rally Racers, and yes, that was broken too.

Yea…… So much for a support team…..
No one will respond, no one will even check these forums…..

EDIT: Okay umm…….. Now, not even Cloud Data history will load for me. When I tried looking into the history of different cloud data projects, it just kept giving me the loading circle…….. Is something “actually” going on, or is it just on my side? Or are we just getting more server issues?

Keep in mind that the Scratch forums HAVE gone down a couple times. Whether that is relevant, or it is something else entirely. :O

It's getting worse, now if you click on See Data from the Project Page of a Cloud Variable project, it freezes in an endless wait loop and doesn't show you anything? I'd like to think it's because ST are finally trying to fix the problem, but I very much doubt it.

This has been appearing quite frequently in the past month or so, though it usually resolves without so much time passing.

Just now, I tested writing and reading back data in one of my projects. Both were successful, even though the history log will not display for the project. The ‘forums are unavailable’ page also appeared early yesterday, something else that has been coming up more often of late.

I made a thing and it's kind of fun :

I had a cloud monitor tab open for eternity and it never finished loading.

Interestingly enough, cloud projects like this one,
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/889957443/

You can see it still “working as intended”, despite the cloud data history logs NOT loading at all. I think the issue is that it could be using 2 servers. One server to actually make changes to the cloud variable, the 2nd server just shows the logs of who did what, maybe?

If the cloud data history can't load in the logs, then that SHOULD mean ANY cloud data should NOT be running on projects. This was actually the case months ago before all this nonsense.

Could replicate with my project, and I know for sure that these variables were higher or are supposed to be higher than what is shown here:

This was exactly how it looked like on the tab that was open for eternity, and it's still like that.

Maybe the 2nd server is down, so all the logs won't show up?

Tried to snip as much as possible…

Scratch Team actually don't know how to manage Cloud Data. They hired engineers to set up Cloud Data for Scratch Projects for them.

Soon after, they were layed off due to not enough money to pay the engineers to keep Cloud Data management running.

The End.

so we are just never getting them back until scratch decides to rehire the engineers or hire new ones?

Unless Scratch Team says otherwise about the matter at hand, then yes.

This is about all that we can assume for now:
————————————————————–
1.) We're never getting old cloud data history back.

2.) New Scratch projects MUST rename cloud variables for it to “work”.

3.) The cloud log screen is broken on every project. (Added by colinmacc)

Well yea…. I was hoping that / this was temporary. But I guess if it's been like that for some time now, we might as well make a note of it.

Added to the “list”.

We assume the older cloud variables are to this day “STILL” on the old servers, in which the Scratch Team no longer uses.

Like I said, unless Scratch Team has a word about this matter, we can only assume so much.
As it is, Scratch Team has NO plans to give us any word / answer on the situation…… Or they are too busy to worry about something like this.

That is all.

I have no idea what's happening at this point with this website :-/
Also, I guess one of the oldest cloud projects, which contained cloud lists before they were removed, is completely dead then:
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/10003919 (this was meant for 2.0 vs 1.x since 3.0 was not released yet, 2.0 wasn't even fully released yet but was only an alpha)

Technology…..

Why learn a language….. When something new is just going to replace it in 5-10 years from now?

Scratch 3.0 > 2.0 > 1.X

Though they REALLY shouldn't change/update the cloud data for every “new exciting update” comes to Scratch this way. That just seems to hurt the community, as well as hurting the trust of the Scratch Team.

Also, Page 80!
