Most architectures weren't just made that quickly, so I'd assume they have had that design in mind for a bit now.

Yeah - I think the MacBook has a better display (the monitor, not the RTX's fault). But what do you have to say about the speed?

macOS Monterey's low power mode is really awesome. (and besides that it's very snappy.) It basically has the fan off 100% of the time regardless of what I'm doing and gives me more battery. I don't know how much of a performance loss there is. When you have low power mode off, my Air throttles whatever it does and it doesn't cool down.

Guess I'm upgrading to Monterey next week!! This computer likes fans a lot. I hope I can teach it to stop.

Depends on what's the most intensive thing you do and how often you do it.

Actually, the new MacBook Pros run at EXTREMELY high temps.. (btw they were thinking about money so that's why) 90 to 100+ degrees Celsius is what they can run at. They can actually handle all that heat but I feel like the fan is probably really loud in that case. THIS is really impressive, but M1 Max seems to throttle a lot. It's running under Rosseta though. Apple's marketing should've been focused on the power UNPLUGGED rather than power efficiency (clearly not its strong suit.).

Yeah - but the outside surface remains about the same, the CPU cores go upto a 100 (btw, the 2020 Intel MacBook Air, dual core i3 went up to 100℃ while running cinebench r23)

hmmm I haven't seen that yet … do you have any source?

It looked like he was talking about the RTX

(and it's also a thinkpad - which is similar in size, shape and weight to the Mac, but isn't meant for gaming)

It's an RTX 3080. (high wattage) If you look though, the Macbook ALSO throttles.
