Minecraft is a bestselling procedurally generated sandbox game created by Mojang Studios. The game was initially published in its alpha stage in 2009 and fully released in 2011. It’s still receiving regular updates to this day.

This topic is for general discussion related to Minecraft. You can also discuss more specific topics on the specialized Minecraft Topics, which have been listed here.

This is the third main Minecraft Topic, succeeding the second one from 2021, which itself succeeded the first one from 2013. Actually, this is the fourth topic if you count the 1.4 forums one from way back in 2011. But that would be confusing to people, so I’m not.

Cherry Blossom Biome Arriving in 1.20 (February 14th, 2023)

[…] This beautiful biome is filled with cherry blossom trees that bring a unique look to the horizon as their crowns are big and flat, like fluffy pink clouds. Archeology Coming To Minecraft 1.20 (February 10th, 2023)
When you’re ready to get started with your new career as a Minecraft Archeologist, or M’archeologist as it’s known colloquially, head out to a nearby desert. That’s where the sand lives. […] While you’re digging, look out for a new block: suspicious sand! As the name suggests, you need to tread carefully here. Or rather, brush carefully. Along with new blocks and a general air of mystery, archeology also brings a new tool: The brush. Break it out, and carefully brush your block of suspicious sand. This allows you to extract whatever is hiding within, which can be anything from pottery shards to random objects!

AI isn't being added to Scratch anytime soon. If you want to, you could also read this related essay, which was not made by me.
I also found the earliest mention of Scratch 4.0 on the forums.
