we went on vacation for 3 weeks this summer and i had the ipad and like… i got so used to tapping the screen ‘n’ all that when we came back and i went on the computer i was just tapping the screen like “WHY WON'T THIS WORK???”

Anyways, this post in summary: I posted somethin about Drackhaver Magician's Academy a while ago, i think. and uhh i feel like it's underdeveloped. so this is basically a little detail dump.
- Teachers hold quizzes every now and then, but the only official tests are the midterms and the finals. This is due to the fact that extensive supervision/administration/whatever is required to eliminate cheating (cause ya know, magic ‘n’ stuff), and it's easier to just have all that stuff clustered up in two major time periods.
- 1st-6th grade has the same 6 core subjects. I haven't decided exactly what they are, but I know there's history, alchemy (magic chemistry), something along the lines of magical creatures ‘n’ stuff (the thing Syano teaches), and something involving sciency-mathy-stuffos cause magic actually requires you to know that stuff.
- After that, theres different things for each grade, and stuffos you can sign up for– everyone in 7th grade takes Astronomy (with Ada! ), for instance. You also get access to study buildings, where you basically do homework ‘n’ stuff and consult teachers, i guess. (sometimes there'll just be a teacher standing there supervising you, sometimes the teacher will actually be able to help you.)
- Almost everyone takes a bus to Drackhaver. Most students live nearby (Northeastern America), so they go one of three bus stops in the region. However, some students live in more distant parts of the country, therefore a few other buses (nicer ones, because the trips are looong) zoop around to pick up individual people. There are very, very few who come from different countries. Special transportation is arranged for them. (There are, of course, magic schools all over the world.)
- Most of the money spent on the school goes into living quarters. Students/families must buy their own supplies. Theres a sorta financial aid program though. i won't get into that cause i don't know how financial aid works ;u;
- Unlike Hogwarts, Drackhaver doesn't have any actual sporting events. However, if students (or even teachers) want to organize their own, then they can, as long as it's safe (will talk about safety later). There is gym class at Drackhaver– held after school, one day a week. 2 grades have gym class in one day; usually the classes are consecutive, however sometimes they overlap.
- On safety: Drackhaver of course has very high security. There used to be a team of teachers prepared to defend if the school was attacked; however, once situations began looking serious, Spore got involved with defense as well. The standard of ‘safe’ is also different at Drackhaver. Sorta like Hogwarts, you know… i mean, your typical school wouldn't exactly let loose twenty dragons and let kids ride them every year… right?
- Oh, just to clarify: you can only attend Drackhaver if you're good enough at magic. The only requirements to get in are that you're good enough and you're not dangerous. (so like… Pascal's siblings didn't get in cause they're not good enough; Eric barely got in because everyone thought his father was a murderer.) Basically you send in an application somehow, and all the board judges you ‘n’ stuff. ‘board’ meaning all your office peeps and teachers and whoever else. (thank goodness that includes teachers because if in werent for syano, eric wouldve never met scorpio and pascal…)
