Object

Okay, so we will be remixing this game.

Added Features

Added features will (if all goes according to plan) include…

Multiple biomes

Multiple raw materials

Overall levels as well as building levels

Different skyships

Pirates that sometimes sack skyships

Different raw materials depending on which biome you choose

Cloud-based save files

And maybe… just maybe… INTER-PLAYER MATERIAL TRADING

Assignments

-Menu Coder-

Continue scripts for the menu. Add Options Menu and Credits (Credits will be a reel/downwards scrolling thing).

-Menu Artist-

Art for the main menu. We need it ASAP. Our coders are saying they can't do the menu until they have some art to work with.

-Menu Testing-

I want you to test the improved menu scripts from @AiyanMind.

-Advertising Department-

Just advertise the project in general. Advertise for people to join the collab, not play the game.

-Sound FX-

I would like two click sounds, one for the menu, and one for placing objects.

-Inventory Artist-

I need a money symbol and a people symbol. Try to keep it simple, no faces on the people symbol.

-Rest of Coding Department-

Next, we will determine our inventory coding. (This person will create an engine to keep track of various resources.) I want each of you to create a sprite that will keep track of all the players resources, everything from money, to oil, to purchased buildings (buildings you have bought but not placed yet). For now, however, just make it record money and passengers.

I'm really sorry, but I have to leave. I've been too busy and haven't been able to make time for Scratch lately. @AiyanMind is the new manager. I will still stick around for a little while (probably the rest of today, 3/12/17) to answer questions and help facilitate the transfer of power. @AiyanMind, you may want to make another topic, so you can edit the OP. Again, I'm really sorry, and I wish I could have stayed, but I wasn't really doing anything good for the collab. I hope this will continue to keep moving forward, so that this game may still be made.

This section shows how active members are. The key is:

Permanent Members (No danger of being fired EVER)

Active Members (Active, helpful members, not in immediate danger of being fired)

Less Active Members (Not as active, might want to start being active again)

The rules for firing people are:

1: Only manager and assistant manager may fire people.
2: You are not fired randomly: you are only fired if you are inactive for 7 or more days, if you fail to respond to a role call, or if there is an exception (Only manager can make exceptions).
3: If you are fired, you may ask to be re-accepted, and we will re-accept you.* *If you have been fired three or more times, then you will not be re-accepted.

Hello, I am Mole_Gaming.

I would like to become a programmer and/or tester for your project.

Programming is my best skill, and I'm especially good at formulas, algorithms, and AI.

Hi! Ummm… yeahhhhh… I feel that I am not being very active due to me having too many positions and too many things going on. I've got a large RPG that I'm working on, I'm experimenting with pixel art AND vector art, and I've got 2 collabs I'm in! I can't do this much so I think I need to resign from Coder, Head Artist, Head Animator, and Tester. I will continue to advertise this project, but I will not be super active…. I'm really sorry….

Bad news…
No more bad news now that I've been promoted in art and animation… thanks! But sorry that BillysParty is gone.
This might be good or bad: We should probably have it save to the cloud instead of your suggestion of save codes because:
• save codes are not compatible with inter-player-trading
• I don't want to make save codes but I do want to use cloud
If you want me to use cloud everyone can make the game and I will make art, then I can add the cloud (if scratch is off http fallback)

Yeah I think that cloud saving would be harder but has many advantages. Also the gameplay sketch I like all the buttons and the level meter and all that but I think the art is… I don't know but I think that style of vector doesn't really go with this game…. I think the ships should be based more off of real-life ships not hot-air balloons. I'm hoping for this to feel like a completed version of the original game (The original game was BETA after all). That vector representation was nothing like the original game. Maybe something in between the 2 extremes.

Sure! I understand the feel you want to use and I am perfect with multiple kinds of design if I can make it in vector. I will make it more like my sketch but still like the original. New sketch coming soon!

I agree, but it might not be too hard.

We could still generate a save code, but instead of giving it to the player to save and load the code, we could store it on a cloud list, and automatically load their code when the game starts.

uh… encoding and decoding is how cloud works…

I'll get the cloud data done once the game workings are complete to make sure the whole game works with cloud data. Everyone thinks its harder but it's easy and much better because then we can do inter-player trading. Yes, it isn't that hard, really.

You can create a separate topic in show and tell to advertise this.
But really, it is not nice to just advertise on popular people's profiles or projects.

Just a question: Are they advertising for people to join the collab, or to play the game?

I was going to make a project that is literally a short video ad, and post it in advertising studios. I was also going to maybe go onto people's profiles, but not be spammy. For instance, instead of:
Join this RIGHT NOW!!! *link*
I would put something like:
Hi! Could you please consider joining this? It doesn't look like you are very busy. We also need *blank*.
So that it isn't spam. I actually hadn't thought of a forum. But no, I don't spam on popular projects.

Yeah. That kind of advertising is not good for anyone! It's offensive to the creator of the project, demeaning to yourself, and despised by everyone else.

Here's some things we can change about the project:
Render without screen refresh
No typing fancy codes to build new things, just have a dropdown menu with buttons for what to build
Show the prices of building things
Materials easier to view
Levels/XP
Redesign the main menu (Have a back button, not “b to go back”)
The trading is a little confusing, maybe a way to see what you're trading with the ships or other players, more control over trading?
It seems to buy as many of an item as possible when you click, maybe only place one building when an area is clicked?

What I'm working on:
Making main menu art and animations, also working on top bar in-game
Following up on this forum so I get all the activity in the collab.

@-Collab- I am going to fill out a sponsorship forum with the creator of Pokemon Violet. This will give us an ad space on their forum, but we have to advertise them in our forum. Is that okay?
