That isn't what should happen with notifications on a website, plus, Windows doesn't have a problem with notifications and pop-ups, and you can just turn them off or turn down the volume if you don't like it.

Would it? If my interpretation is correct, you upload the sound file, and the server simply tells the page what sound to play when you receive a message. While a lot of audio files(especially long ones and big ones, but there would likely be a limit for all of these) would put a strain on the servers, I severely doubt it'll cause lag.

I'm saying that it might though on several occasions but yeah, you're not wrong there!

I think ST should add this feature, it sounds really good for people to be notified about new project activity, comment activity, ST messages, studio activity, forums activity, etc.

There are going to be options to turn down the volume in that case so that it doesn't make your ears bleed kind of like mine lol.
