I think scratch should add an accessibility tab in account settings for the colorblind related updates and future updates that have to do with accessibility.right now it could have changing back the views, heart, and star button to the original colors, and later it could have the block colors and changing it back to how it is now.

Scratch Team says they want scratch to be accessible for everyone and they’ve been making stuff to help colorblind people see stuff better.the heart, star,remix, and views button have all changed so that they’re easier to see.they also said they’re going to change the block colors soon.a lot of people don’t like how it looks.the darker border is more distracting than the ones we already had, and it’s just doesn’t look as good to a lot of people and made it harder for some people who are colorblind.

I originally wrote the second paragraph but it didn’t get to the point fast enough so I wrote the first one.

Someone else had the idea for accessibility tab and I agreed with it so I made a suggestion, these are mostly for block colors and future stuff because those are the most important since they make it harder to see for some people.

Add this as an option, it makes block colors impossible to distinguish for me and many others who are color deficient, you have not made it easier to distinguish between them but much much harder. that's why the accessibility stuff are needed.stuff like this need to be able to be turned off and on or changed, because it can make scratch unusable.

Minor changes (i.e. Love / Favorite buttons), doesn't worth a whole section to be honest, It's just a really minor change, and isn't that big of deal. So a whole section for this, is just a waste of the Scratch Team time, in my opinion. My advice, deal with this, and everything else on the website, not everything should be toggle, just because you don't want it. But if you really want it so bad, there are userscripts / userstyles.

I honestly think it's stupid to have everything toggle, why not just try to deal with it? - It's just been one or two days ago and no one is trying to adapt with this change, everything on the site literally changed, and there's no toggles, and everyone currently is okay with the changes that happend earlier, so why not try to deal with this change? - Rather than getting outrage on day one.

A setting would make sense if the change made the experience worse for users who aren't colorblind. The new love/favorite icons don't – of course some prefer the old icons, but there's nothing wrong with the new ones.

Adding a setting would also mean a lot of additional work for the Scratch Team. They're currently working on other accessibility improvements, and having to maintain two versions of every part of the website and editor would be difficult.

Huge support. I hate the new blocks and dislike the star/heart change, so this tab would be great.

…They used to be full black but then they changed them to full grey in 3.0 then to full black then not even less than a day later changed them to.. that (anything after full grey was less than 3 days ago so not surprised you don’t know), I had no idea until I saw an image. But I had to edit my reply after noticing the updates.

They only made one change, from gray filled icons to the current outlined icons. The reason why some people saw black filled icons is explained here.

yeah they originally made it darker but then “fixed” it which is what I mean.

That’s why they should add an accessibility tab.not because it makes more work, but since they plan to add a lot of accessibility stuff, and are changing the block colors and want to make it not an option (and once they add it they probably won’t give an option once they add it)(no I don’t have any proof just what I think from other stuff if anyone wants it) that makes seeing it worse for a few colorblind users.if they add other updates for colorblind people and make it worse for some color Blind users and better for others then that’s the opposite of what they’re trying to do.

If they’re not adding any other stuff then this isn’t needed, but since they’re adding them now they’re probably going to add more

I find the contrast blocks designs to be extremely dizzying due to the colors, I totally get why they’re important for colorblind people but for me they’re incredibly dizzying
I think it’d be a great option for there to be options between different block designs so people can choose which ones are the easiest for them to view. In 2.0 it was possible to customize block colors, I really think this should be added back as an accessibility feature. If there were multiple choices for what blocks you can use that’d be very helpful for everyone, people who have trouble seeing could use the ones intended for colorblindness and hose who like the usual look can use those, and if someone wants to have a specific color of blocks because they like it that’d be helpful too!
