Yeah, at least in the beginning he did. Back when Microsoft was new (before Windows), he was pretty much the MVP for the company along with Paul Allen. This is really off topic though.

i think people are making a deal about it cuz when rareware, the once high quality company, was bought by microsoft, they have made shallow quality games ever since. and people are worried that mojang is gonna do the same.

but thats mainly cuz most if not all of rareware's employees left when miscrosoft got their hands on the company

Microsoft is transitioning into cloud software. I doubt it will come to Minecraft though (at least not for a while).
