Warn users when they've exceeded an asset size/JSON file size limit

You're right, I just tried this out. I uploaded a 3,2MB MP3 file to Scratch, applied the fade out filter, exported it, and the WAV file is more than twice the size of the original.

I think you may be over-hyping the importance of this slightly, but I do agree that it should be a feature. The only disadvantage that I can really see is that it could be frustrating to constantly be notified about this kind of thing, but a “don't show again” button would take care of that.

I personally think it's more annoying to be constantly unable to save without knowing why then to be constantly warned of why your project can't be saved.

Support. This is one of the few nuances that I have with Scratch. As ResExsention first mentioned, I too think it should be optional (initially on, but can be configured in profile settings or editor settings) because sometimes having another toast notification can be distracting and irritating.

I think that whenever it fails to save, it should tell you if it failed because of the JSON size.

You know, i have scratch 2.0 installed on my laptop, and when i got my .sb2 file windows defender didn't flag it as malware.

Is that a bad thing? I don't know why you would want it to flag something that is not malware as malware.

Mega-support I'm dealing with this now and it is especially annoying to deal with this when you have a deadline. Nearly my entire school project was gone before I knew this size limit existed. This is very important and would be LIFE-SAVING. Scratchteam, PLEASE add this.
