In the fx-82ES I have it is the S⇔D that makes it switch. Note however that it makes it up to 10 significant digits (“18.37037037”) or fewer depending on the mode, and doing SHIFT before = gets it directly to the decimal form, however, it might vary in your PLUS model and others.

If I'm not totally misremembering, I once saw (at a primary school) what otherwise appeared to be a plain-old basic pocket calculator (really a bunch of them, I think) with exact rationals.

I wonder what electronic calculator is the most like a computer algebra system?
