Scratch 2.0 WeDo extension is now in beta!
Today's update to Scratch adds support for the LEGO WeDo - a first for Scratch 2.0! LEGO WeDo is a robotics kit that you can use to connect your Scratch projects to the physical world.
If you have a LEGO WeDo, you can add the WeDo extension by clicking the more blocks palette, and then select “add an extension.” Select LEGO WeDo and follow the instructions to install the plugin.
What are Scratch Extensions?
The WeDo extension is just the first of its kind: It will soon be possible to connect other kinds of hardware to Scratch. And with “Web extensions”, you can pull data from the web into your project. For example, we're working on a weather extension that will allow your projects to get the current temperature in any location. Look for an update on this soon!
I want to make a Scratch extension so I can… (program my 200 foot tall My Little Pony robot / monitor my pet Nar-Nar’s temperature / whatever else you can imagine )
You can find more information about Scratch extensions on the wiki page. However, we're going to be really careful about which extensions we'll make available for everyone on Scratch to use. We'll be releasing more details about the development and submission process in the coming months.

Awesome!
I can't wait for the weather one. I would also like a Lego Mindstorms extension. That would be great!

Well actually, you could get the lego we-do blocks before this happened. You would just hold the more blocks and the shift key down and the add an extension button would appear after a few seconds. Next, you would click it and then a window would appear. You would click the lego we-do thing and click a button that would say, “select” You would click that button and the lego we-do blocks would show up. Tell me if you knew that.
