Here’s something I came up with:

The Shadow Empire still uses old Imperial I or II class ISDs but Irek reveals a new fleet of Class III Imperial Star Destroyers.

Each of these would be one and a half times as big as normal Imperial Star destroyers. Instead of six heavy turbolasers and two heavy ion cannons they would have eight heavy turbolasers and four heavy ion cannons. They would also each be equipped with two gravity well generators so they could function as interdictors (but the range of the gravity well would be smaller than a dedicated interdictor). The overall design would be pretty similar to the Galactic Civil War-era ISDs, maybe with a few minor changes like side-mounted hangers so that TIE fighters could launch straight out instead of having to drop out of the hangar. (they would probably have the lower hangar too so they could capture ships.)

Also, Irek’s Empire should use clones.

And definitely for the New Republic army. A fleet full of the latest Mon Calamari ship designs as well as the newest starfighters.

The Jedi Order would use a special type of X-Wing outfitted with a longer range hyperdrive, more cargo space, and better weapons.

Good question. I always thought it was strange that the New Republic (or Galactic Alliance or whatever it was at the time) was like “Oh, here are some old Imperial ships, let's just paint the Rebel symbol on them and send them cruising around the galaxy!” It seems like for many planets and species Imperial ships would still have a very bad connotation in their minds. It seems like the New Republic would want to move away from menacing-looking ships like the Star Destroyers and Super Star Destroyers and use more peaceful looking ships like the Mon Cal cruisers.


That’s just my thought. We could have a Rebel ship named the Lusankya as a reference to it or something.
