Space Program Simulator: Build Rockets, and Explore a Solar System with Realistic Orbital Mechanics!

Space Program Simulator

Welcome! This is the official page for Space Program Simulator! If you are looking to share your save codes, go here. This page here is mostly for discussing things about Space Program Simulator, including new ideas, questions, bug reports, etc.

Space Program Simulator is a game where you can build your very own rockets from a wide variety of parts! Then, you can use your rockets to explore the solar system! With sandbox AND career mode, you can play your way!

This is similar to KSP RSS/RO because of the size of the solar system(our scale), but this has new fictional planets (in addition to our planets with different names) to put a spin on our solar system. (This also means that you can suggest ideas for planets )

Space Program Simulator now has a YouTube Channel!

LATEST BETA: SPS 2mar23-1.20.8-a

By the way, large rockets may need improved performance:
https://turbowarp.org/544019342/fullscreen?fps=60&clones=Infinity&turbo

Features Added in v1.20.85 (that weren't in v1.20.8)
(Note that the new features do not include non-full versions, so for example, if a feature got added in v1.10.4, but wasn't in v1.05 I would still list it here because v1.10.4 wasn't a full update (wasn't featured on the main project).)

-Fixed rotation related bugs
-Fixed SRB thrust lingering bug
-Other small improvements

Future Plans
(Note that these plans, might/probably will change in the future)
v1.25.1
-Support for multiple different crafts at the same time
-Better trajectory prediction
-Better performance when staging rockets

Keys & Instructions

Build Editor:

Click on a part to grab it
While a part is grabbed

(Space) - Changes skin of part, or flips it

(Click) - Places the part where your mouse pointer is

(Click When Mouse Is Over Part Bar or Garbage Bin) - Deletes part

General

(WASD) - To move around in the build editor

(Q & E) - Zoom in & out in the build editor

(V) - toggle advanced rocket data

(R) - sets part touching the mouse pointer to the “root part” (the part that the camera follows during staging)

(clicking on the staging grid (the rectangle and the right side of the screen in between two arrows)) - toggles “staging automation mode”

During “staging automation mode”

Clicking on a part will add it to the staging group displayed by the number on the staging grid.

So when during play mode you hit space, the part(s) that was in the staging group displayed will "activate. (Such as deploying a parachute, activating an engine, triggering a separator, opening a solar panel or landing leg, etc.)

Play Mode

(A & D) - turn

(N) - While turning to turn at 10% speed

(W & S) - throttle rocket

(Z) - Set throttle to 100%

(X) - Set throttle to 0%

(, &.) - Change “timewarp” (how fast time passes)

(/) - Sets timewarp to 1x (normal time)

(Space) - triggers staging group shown by the indicator on the staging grid (more about that up top in the “Build Editor” section)

(F) - Set whatever object the mouse is hovering over to the “focus” (Includes rocket)

(0) - toggles debug info (when the debug info is on, performance may drop)

(IJKL) - moves the camera around

(Q & E or Mouse Wheel) - zoom in & out

(T) - sets camera mode to “locked” (stays with rocket)

(Y) - sets camera mode to “loose” (stays with the planet)

(C) - Toggles “More Info” list

Check out Space Program Simulator!

In it, you can build your own rockets from a variety of parts!
Then fly it with realistic orbital mechanics.

Go to orbit, explore different planets, share your save codes, and do so much more!

If you would like to help out on the project or chat about space or really anything else, check out the offical SPS Studio!

I remember when I was new to Scratch and did a collab trying to make something like this.

We can just use your design for one of the space programs.
