Actually I think this may be fairly similar to a concept that was already mentioned here but could do with expansion or maybe, as you said, its own section.
Yeah.

“If you are writing a story or creating a character roleplay for a Scratch studio, shouldn't it go in either Collaboration or Show and Tell instead of Things I'm Making and Creating?” - k0d3rrr

here's the dead link, I don't have the link to the current one, which is why I'm asking it to be changed instead of just changing it myself

I've had a look and I couldn't find it. Are you sure it still exists?

I don't think the old link would die without the wiki moving, unless the entire toki trend died

As stated above, this was mentioned a few days ago.
I pointed this out because at the moment, the Project Trends page doesn't already mention this.

what happens if someone changes their scratch username? does it affect the wiki account too or does it just stay like that?

There is no feature to allow users to change their username.

No, I mean like changing it through Contact Us for reasons like it being inappropriate.

The Wiki account would stay the same.

Eg:
Scratch username= User1
Wiki username= User1

But if the user changes theirs:
Scratch username= User2
Wiki username= User1
