Hello! I'm not sure if anyone knew this already or not, but I just asked Mewly when the art lessons would be continued, and he/she said that they did not have time to do CCCC anymore.

I'm hiring somebody to continue your course. Thank you for the information.

@WRITERS

Please complete the task, I've only got one back.

Hey, Crazy, can I just count as passing the standard course by default, if the lesson I already did counts as advanced?

Comeback time? Maybe?

Interesting question, and I think that you won't have to do the Advanced Programming Lesson 1. XD

However, I will change the Advanced Programming a bit, so you might have to do those parts.

Standard Management - Hiring Scenario #2

You have been left as Chief of Hiring while your Chief Executive is away. You are part of a newspaper collaboration. Here is what your chief said before they went away. Please read the following very carefully. Take your time.

Chief Executive wrote:

Our recent deputy editor left so we are looking for a new one. Make sure that anyone that you hire for this role has plenty of experience. Also, we are looking for two artists and one fictional writer. You do not have to fill all this vacancies but don't unnecessarily turn applicants away. Good Luck

Soon after your Chief Executive left, you are faced with many applicants. You must decide if they are accepted, what job they are accepted as (you may want to change this from what they first wanted) and justification in some detail.

Username: Ted
Time Using Scratch: 2 month
Position: Deputy Editor
Best Project(s): (link goes to a fairly good project with a few reports and pieces of writing)
Previous Experience: I have never been in a collaboration, this will be my first if I am accepted but I am willing to learn!
I really like your enthusiasm! However, I don't think that your style of writing is exactly what we are looking for. I really like your reports, but I'm afraid that they aren't what we are looking for.
Username: Superman101
Time Using Scratch:
Position: artist
Best Project(s): see profile (profile leads to many projects with pieces of art of varying quality)
Previous Experience: what.
I'm sorry, but I don't think that you are exactly the artist that we are looking for. However, you can re-apply later, or at another shop, and you might get a job there!
Username: TheVectorSpectre
Time Using Scratch: 11 months
Position: Artist
Best Project(s): (link goes to a polished range of art, well made.)
Previous Experience: I have been in a few collaborations, but no leader or manager of any of them. I just enjoy drawing and making art. :-)
Very nice! You are accepted. You have a very amazing and unique art style that you should be very proud of. :)
Username: Jones
Time Using Scratch: 12 months
Position: Fictional Writer
Best Project(s): (leads to a project with an excellent story)
Previous Experience: None, I am afraid.
I really like what you wrote, you have a great way with words. We will hire you as a trainee, and teach you about how to help out in a shop!
Username: SevenQuills
Time Using Scratch: 18 months
Position: Fictional Writer
Best Project(s): ( leads to a project with a great story)
Previous Experience: Yep, I have been in loads of collaborations before!
Hired! Excellent writing. :)
The deadline is the 17th of January; ask if you need an extension.

Any questions? Just ask! Excuse the usernames.

Standard Management Course - Questionnaire Scenario #3
You are the leader of a collaboration which has recently fallen inactive. You have rebooted but abandoned your last project because of little progress and it is all a mess. You have organised everything but you think your team are lacking motivation. Your task is to write a survey for your members to motivate them with at least six questions. You might want to:
-Show that you value your member's opinions
-Show that you value your member's ideas during decision process making (hint hint).
-Resolve the current inactivity crisis (re-organisation?)

Be creative!
Any questions, just ask!
-Co49

Deadline: 26/01/2016
Hey guys! I would really appreciate it if you would take the time to complete this survey:
Do you feel that you have too much to do, or not enough to do?
Are you happy with what you get to do?
What suggestions do you have for this collaboration?
It seems as if we have become a bit inactive - do you have suggestions about how to regain activity?
Are there any problems with the collaboration so far? If so, what are they?

Thanks so much for taking this!

Oh, ok! I would turn away Jones. Here is what I would say:
I'm afraid that you aren't the writer that we are looking for. If we had more available spots, then you would certainly be hired. However, we only have one spot, so I'm afraid that you aren't hired.

Advanced Management - Lesson Two - Roles
This lesson isn't too exciting, but the next to are where you will learn about the lifecycle and general!

Design Stage Roles
Designer
These scratchers are responsible for the making of a plan for a project. There are often called ‘ideas people’ and most collaborations allow all members to help in this stage. Brainstorming and researching is often involved.

Implementation Stage Roles
Programmers
Programmers may help with the coding in Scratch. Some collaborations will have ranks of programmers based on their abilities and skill in that area. Some collaborations have specialised programmers that work in areas such as Cloud Variables and debugging.

Music People
Musicians may be responsible for the composing and recording of music for a project or sourcing it. They may also be involved in the sourcing of sound effects. Some band collaborations have different roles for sound experts such as drummers, composers, pianists and guitarists.

Artists
Graphic Artists may design the sprites for projects. But they may also help with graphics for the collaboration and completing art orders for shop collaborations.

Writers
Writers may be involved in fiction or non-fiction. They are often responsible for the

Other
Animator
Voice Actors

Testing and Post Implementation Stage Roles
Tester
Testers help to test the current project and give feedback including bugs and areas for improvement.

Advertisers
Advertisers advertise both the collaboration and projects that they make through many different ways such as telling people, show and tell and in their signature.

Administrative Related Roles
Trainer
In some collaborations, new members must go through training before becoming full members, most often in shops. A trainer is the person who overseas this training and ensures that their trainees are ready to be a full member of the collaboration.

Forum Helper
Being a forum helper involves snipping quotes, answering questions and keeping the topic tidy and on topic.

Administrator
An administrator may need to ensure that the front post is up to date and that new members are initiated. In shops, they may bump orders.

Management Related Roles
(Expanded from Standard Management)
Leader - Upper
There is usually one leader by collaboration. They tend to have the last say and are responsible for the overall running of the collaboration. They are mostly responsible for the planning, strategy and decisions. In some collaborations, two or more ‘partners’ run the collaboration and have equal say.

Executives - Upper
Executives are members trusted by the leader and are responsible for helping the leader run the collaboration. They often have the power to hire and dismiss members. They will often help the leader with administrative tasks and advise the leader to, helping with plans, strategy and decision making.

Managers - Middle
Managers tend to have less power than executives and may not be able to hire and dismiss members but they can do sometimes from their own team. They are responsible for running teams within the collaboration. Questions should often be directed to their manager. There are often head managers who are responsible for all the managers.

Heads - Lower
These scratchers are often experienced members within a team who can give technical advice to members who need help on assignments.

Members - Lower
Although the workers have the least power, they make up the backbone of a collaboration. Everyone needs to be valued.

Collaboration Types
Project Based
This is where a group of scratchers work towards making a project which will be finished, such as a game or movie.

Shop
This is where a group of scratcher offer their skills and talents to customers.

Role Play
This is where a group of scratchers assume fictional roles in a made up world. They often make games and other projects, so can be classed as a project based collaboration.

Newspaper
This is where a group of scratcher work to publish a newspaper possibly including art, articles, puzzles and comics every week or month.

Name
Nickname / Preferred Name
Job
Resume / Example Work *so you can see how skilled they are
Time *gives an idea as to their experience with scratch but is not definitive or related to skill!
Experience with Job *gives a great idea to their experience
Credentials *achievements/experience, related/non-related to job
Ratings 0/10 *used by some collaborations, but they are self-rating.

It's make or break, swim or sink! But that lesson isn't too interesting. This one is a bit more interesting. There are a few assignments but the two big ones are investigating two real collaborations and comparing them and designing a fictional collaboration.

Standard management? Or does having helped manage 3 collabs count?

Edit: Might as well do advanced as well.

Hey everyone! We are in need of opinions, so here's a poll!
1) What kind of a project should we make next?
2) Should we have a different structure (head artist, manager, etc.)?
3) How can we improve the front page?
4) Is there anyone you think is interested in joining this collab?
5) What kind of rules should we have?
6) Finally, is there any ideas we can improve on?
We would really appreciate your ideas!
