Source? From what I could find, Firefox actually uses more system resources than Chrome in a lot of cases.

You can turn off a lot of Microsoft's telemetry in the settings. Chrome gives no straightforward option to do this.
I personally use Windows anyway, so they're still getting my data regardless. The difference is that they're at least not getting any more of it.

Vertical tabs take up less space than horizontal tabs. On a 1920x1080 monitor, horizontal tabs take up 1920x32=61440 pixels of screen space, whereas vertical tabs take up only take up 48x967=46416 pixels with the title bar disabled.

The menu is also scrollable and each tab only takes up 31x31 pixels of space, meaning that you can fit a lot more tabs in the vertical menu without them becoming completely unmanageable.

Edge is not free or open-source unlike Firefox, neither is Windows.

With open-source software, if you want to change it and know how to, you can.

What reason would you have to change any of these browsers?

Edge has most of the features of a virus - spyware, adware and difficult to uninstall.

Edge for Android comes with an adblocker.
Also, it's only difficult to uninstall on Windows with the stable channel preinstalled (or installed via Windows Update)
But then again, Internet Explorer…

At least IE does not slow down the entire PC even when not running.

When I first saw that Edge was installed on my Windows 7 laptop - I seriously thought I got infected with malware, since I didn't install anything, and after I turn on my laptop, I see that Windows is “fixing” something (startup repair) and then I see this browser installed. Saying that it's “fixing” something and continuing to install something without your permission is absolutely horrible - no software should do that.
Same thing happens on Windows 8.1 through Windows Update
