i've done it!!! One of these days I plan to dual-boot linux (specifically ubuntu) onto my PC. I do have to do some hard-drive spring-cleaning though, as I only have a few gigs free.

it's much more restrictive than windows. Also, they do stuff like remove OpenGL support (bad!) and drop support for 32 bit apps (pointless decision that broke tons of compatibility). I'd much rather be using windows than macOS, although overall I'd much rather be using Linux than any of the other two.(#187)It doesn't have restrictions unlike Windows. How is it “as open as Linux”?(#181)macOS is not a prison, it is as open as Linux.“MacOS is a prison.” - somebody on this topic like 11 years ago Linux great.

open as Linux.
You've got to be kidding me.
Have you, zaid1442011, ever used a Mac?
If so, you probably know about Gatekeeper.
If not, let me explain.
Gatekeeper makes apps not allowed by Apple unable to run. That's pretty much 25% of all Mac apps you can download from the Internet.
If you want Gatekeeper to not get in your way, you need to pay a whole bunch of money to Apple. And it's a pain in the (REDACTED) to get it notarized.
Think about it. Is Mac really an open platform if it's basically controlled by Apple?

That's what Tim Cook tells people like you through telepathic communications using Thunderbolt and other propietary protocols macOS is not a prison, it is as open as Linux.
Though for developing projects, supporting macOS is much better than having to support Windows. The subtle differences in filesystems, I/O piping, and stuff like that can drive one insane

I run Linux on a super old laptop and it's never had issues that weren't self-inflicted. Linux drivers corrupting on literally almost every computer I ever owned: (I DO like Linux, but seriously it has some pretty bad stability issues.)
My Windows PC that's just a few (like 3) years old, however, has problems all. the. time.
