Allowing other image hosting sites incase CubeUpload shuts down
I need this so much…. I mainly use my school chromebook for scratch so cubeupload and whatever other image hosts scratch allows (if there are any others) are all blocked. And now I can't use my own projects to host images either.

A really simple host I would like to use is https://postimages.org/. You just drop an image and get the link.

assets.scratch.mit.edu images can no longer be posted.Well, I guess that explains a bit of why they shut down Big bump - with the forums recently coming back,
(This is the first image I've uploaded to cubeupload in probably quite a while.)
This means many forumers' primary image host (including mine) is now gone. With all the others being unsuitable for personal image hosting (Wikipedia, Scratch Wiki etc), being paid (photobucket, imageshack) or cubeupload not having the best uptime and requiring an account, we no longer have any reliable (and excellent) options for image hosting.
We now need this suggestion more than ever.

(#666)cheddargirl explained it all:
Well, I guess that explains a bit of why they shut down
(#6)Basically, the forums' moderation tools were causing the site to lag, so they took down the forum to fix this once and for all. The mainsite filter being added was kind of a bonus thing they did during the long downtime. What everyone said above is true to some degree, but pieces of a bigger story. So, to put the pieces together: I received a comment on my profile asking me if the forums were shutting down. What's the deal with this?
The forums was capable of being a nasty lag monster, and one of the monster-transformation triggers is the forum moderation tools becoming unwieldy due to the forum's large size and age (it's been around for about a decade now). So yeah, there was a forum troll, a mod was trying to clean the forum space up as normal, and forums got turned into a lag monster.
The filter change stuff was kind of a last-minute spur of the moment thing (our engineers took advantage of the longer-than-usual forum maintenance period). Since it was a rush thing put together over Thanksgiving, it isn't perfect, so it definitely would help us to see what you guys report in the Bugs and Glitches section.

Also, I would like to use github as an image host.
Although I would also like GitHub as an image host, the ST won't add it because GitHub doesn't actually moderate the things that are uploaded there.

It doesn't. I've seen some pages that contain *ehhh images that are not ok for children* hosted on GitHub. They only moderate the images if they contain extreme things that I cannot name here.(#671)It doesAlso, I would like to use github as an image host.

(#667)this is offtopic but how did they even manage to add a newer site filter to an ancient forum engine, they are really good
The mainsite filter being added was kind of a bonus thing they did during the long downtime.
Anyways I also support since I used to post images with assets but I'm not going to again ever since it was blocked but I'm also not signing up for a website that looks like it was last updated in 2007 (no offense and while I'm a fan of old computer nostalgia it doesn't seem very safe.)

Support. What if CubeUpload goes down for a while and we have no way to share images quickly?

The ST always seems like they care and want to make Scratch a better place, so I wouldn't say that. It's more of an issue with school filters being dramatic ngl (on the block page it categorized cubeupload as super inappropriate but scratch allows it so that's impossible) and the limitations of the Terms of Use/Community Guidelines.I feel bad for you. Assets & Uploads were never made to be used an image host. Assets was for the editor's sprite/costume hosting and uploads is just for thumbnails and profile images, nothing else. I feel bad for you. I feel like the ST doesn't care about these people.
Plus they said it's being misused anyways (Sure, we have to take their word for it - But atleast that's less of a pain on their back than they already have)
Call me careless if you want by going defense, however I do not see that as careless.
