Imma say no support as I don't even know what that is
Don't decide against support because you don't understand a suggestion (Scroll down a bit to the “Second suggestion”)

Onion skin is for animating. It shows you a faded drawing of your previous frame (Or in this case, costume)
It's helpful because if you're frame by frame animating, you don't have a picture perfect memory of your last image and/or you can't draw it exactly as you did before. It's just an opacity change and an underlay, it wouldn't be part of the sprite itself.

Onion skinning is where it would show a translucent version of the previous costume. It can be very useful when animating. If this doesn't make sense, just look it up.

1. How is it unnecessary??
2. The Scratch Team added that because there are extensions with this feature.
3. Not a valid reason, many people do not know about trig, and yet those were added.

Despite its impressive capabilities, ChatGPT still has limitations. Users sometimes need to reword questions multiple times for ChatGPT to understand their intent. A bigger limitation is a lack of quality in responses, which can sometimes be plausible-sounding but are verbose or make no practical sense.

Instead of asking for clarification on ambiguous questions, the model guesses what your question means, which can lead to poor responses. Generative AI models are also subject to hallucinations, which can result in inaccurate responses.

Honestly, I just felt like I had to bring her argument up. If this is the AI you are looking for, I’m afraid we can’t have it.

This might be a bit too advanced for newer users, but I think this would be a cool addition.

Maybe, but I think it is an easy thing to learn, so Scratch can just make a 1-2 minute tutorial on this.

As others have said, a bit complicated for new Scratchers and other people who don't animate and don't know about Onion Skins, but again, simple, add a tutorial, it would only have to be a minute or two long to explain how it works. Other than that, I am in favor of this suggestion. It would be a great thing for Scratch's community of animators. This would make animating in Scratch way easier.

Support, this is included in extension, it's really helpful in the rare times I animate and everyone who doesn't have extension should be able to use this functionality.

Dude that was added by the Scratch Team because there's an extension with onion skins that you can't name due to that policy, not the original poster

This would be a life saver of a suggestion. Something i have always been bad at is making animations appear consistant. My current strategy is copying the previous costume and placing it to the side of the costume im working on, and edit using it as a reference for the current costume (even though it still doesn't help much), but this would be so much better just because i can compare the size without even having to look or do much estimating. This would be a absolute lifesaver, support

The best workaround (not a very good one, as it's bitmap only)…
  1. Draw what you want.
  2. Duplicate the frame.
  3. Fill the outlines in red.
  4. Trace as usual with your prefered colors (not red), but make a few changes (animate).
  5. Fill everything but the traced drawing red.
  6. Make the fill bucket to transparent (eraser) and get rid of all redness.

I know you said to wasn't the best; I'm just adding on to that: it doesn't help for color. Only the lineart itself

EDIT: Scum of the page WHOOO!!!
