Support.
STOP SAYING TOO COMPLEX!
The same thing can be said of costumes, clones, pen, local and global vars, lists, go to blocks, graphic effects, broadcasts, cloudvars, and more!

This is the Bump Cafe.
Today's menu features fried bump, freshly cooked bump with cheese, or the Bump Cafe's favourite: Bump Soup!
*Not an actual thing, just a fancy way of saying bump.

I think this should be added, since it would be easy for animators.
Maybe this could be in the edit section.

Maybe there should be a different name for it if the feature was implemented as users may not know what “onion skinning” is.

This might be a bit too advanced for newer users, but I think this would be a cool addition.Really?
I find the idea very simple…
I could understand why Scratch may not add the feature, because Scratch is technically designed for younger ages. <3 But, at the same time, I could totally see it as almost a “setting” or something, that could turn on or off the feature (if that's possible)
Most Scratchers don't have access to browser extensions. That is the only available option currently.(#1)I just use a browser extension.
My question is simple (so sorry if someone already asked about this). Will Scratch ever add onion skins? If they did, that would be so awesome XD lol…just saying. You should be able to turn it on and off. For those who don't know what an onion skin is, it's the option to show a ghost image of the previous costume on the drawing screen, without it actually being part of that costume. It's very useful for animation. I've tried to use Pencil and import files into Scratch, but it never seems to work, the formatting is weird, etc. I'm not trying to ask too much, but this addition would make a huge difference to me.
Thanks for listening,
~Luki
*** Note from the Scratch Team ***
Please don't add links to browser extensions, userstyles or userscripts - that's going against this policy
Edit: Well okay, that's not exactly true as I know that there are plenty of Scratchers that can use extensions, but we don't want to promote that on Scratch.

(#401)Surely it should be togalable in the costume editor if it is a feature for the editor? Although, it would be nice to have an onion-skin effect for the stage.
It should be enabled by a block, but I am clueless on how to make mock ups so I can't help with that. Theirs no reason that it shouldn't be added, and inexperienced people are not a huge concern as they can learn how to use it anyway.
EDIT: Okay here is a mock upOnion skin effect[On v]

why do I get the feeling that this is never gonna happen?Probably because this discussion's been going for almost a decade. By the way, I definitely have support for this, it would help a lot of bitmap animators

I think that's why they're not adding it

I think that's why they're not adding itI don't think scratch exactly encourages the use of browser extensions. The real reason is probably because, like many things, they simply don't have enough time to implement this feature. They are too busy moderating and fixing bugs to work on something like this.
