Onion Skins and Scratch
Wick editor is not technically an animation software and it has onion skinThat's not what I am saying. Scratch is not animating software. I am perfectly aware that everyone would be able to understand the feature however, this feature should not be added for reasons in the earlier sentance. No support. Scratch's primary purpose is not animating. To use this tool use animation software and import the frames to scratch.Currently, society thinks that children are idiots who cannot tell the difference between an orange and an apple. This is NOT so, children have an immense capacity to learn, understand, and perform activities or functions DAY TO DAY. Don't tell me that “new scratchers” (usually kids) can't understand what a stupid “onion skin” button is for.
I think that the Wick Editor is an animation software/website.

Why hasn't Scratch decided whether or not they should add this yet? It's been 7 years and the only time they've talked on this thread is to close it down because this guy kept arguing with us.*debating

If I'm not mistaken, Wick is similar to Scratch in that it was initially intended for games, but over time gained a host of animators using it. Though I'm really not familiar with the program, so I can't say either way.

I'm pretty sure it is for animation, but you can still throw in some code.

What on Earth is an “onion skin”? You should explain better in your suggestion

For those who don't know what an onion skin is, it's the option to show a ghost image of the previous costume on the drawing screen, without it actually being part of that costume. It's very useful for animation.

Anyway support if I haven't already. This feature is so useful and all of the workarounds take so long to do. Though considering that this thread has been running for almost eight years, it seems like ST is too lazy to work on itFor those who don't know what an onion skin is, it's the option to show a ghost image of the previous costume on the drawing screen, without it actually being part of that costume. It's very useful for animation.

It would be cool for the ST to add that! It is possible since Scratch Add-ons has that feature, so the ST could totally do that.

Also I'm not saying they had to add it every time that happened, I'm saying they would review it and see if it's necessary.

ST doesn't dictate what suggestions to put in based on how many supports it has. They consider any and all suggestions regardless of support count if they think it would be a good fit for the site. Supports are more a way to gauge community interest and also a way to keep the topic active with more ideas and opinions. Now let's please stay on-topic, so this discussion doesn't get closed.but some suggestions were added but didn't have that many supportersbut suggestions aren't based on how many supporters there areYay thanks for supporting. Now let's please stay on-topic, so this discussion doesn't get closed. That's not how closing works. ST wouldn't close any thread, let alone one that has survived for eight years, just because people starting going off-topic at one point. At most they would steer the conversation back to the original direction.
Edit: Ayy, king of the page! (Also, yes, I do acknowledge the irony in this post. It was just bugging me, sorry

That's not how closing works. ST wouldn't close any thread, let alone one that has survived for eight years, just because people starting going off-topic at one point. At most they would steer the conversation back to the original direction.I hate to go too far offtopic (ironic
) but the Transformations Extension suggestion was recently closed for a few hours due to unconstructiveness, but later in the day it was reopened I believe (or was it the day after?)Anyways, sorry if I've posted here before, but this seems a little advanced. You might be able to do this with clones and ghost effect. I'm not sure about the benefits of this suggestion as I've never animated anything, but it sounds cool.

It wouldn't be very advanced, probably not any more complicated as Flipnote if you've ever used that. This feature would take place inside the costume editor, so clones and ghosts are not a viable workaround. The benefits basically are smoother animation and ease of use.
