It should be legal to have a studio with that name because it is not in the same domain as a museum. If you were to open a museum known as the animation hall of fame then there could be an actual problem. Also isn't it the creator of the studio's problem and not yours? It is his or her intellectual property. You are just the group that owns the site that hosts the studio.

I have a question. I made a project called Idea Storm, but that is already something to do with Dell computers. Will I get sued or something?
No. Like they said, if someone made a skateboard named Scratch, they wouldn't have a problem with it unless it used their logo or anything.
I think you're good. ^-^

Wow… this would make for a funny newspaper article… “Multimillion dollar complex demands name change of a Children's Online Studio” XD
Better: “Multimillion dollar complex demands name change of a quite unknown Children's Online Studio with 7 Followers”
I could understand them if it would have a lot of followers, but really? They want a name change just because it exists and does not make any damage to their company? Okay, since now it will be a famous studio because it is a good one and everyone has it one his front pageSo the studio owner could also thank the ST and the real Animation Hall of Fame for causing this trouble and make it appear on Front page

Don't companies have better things to do than to essentially troll kids' sites because of a supposed trademark infringement? Honestly…

This makes me question capitalism.
Is the law anarchic enough to allow these bungholes to sue scratch? More later on ‘Important Issues About Obscure Children’s Website Places'.

I do not believe that Scratch is the only website with something on it titled “Animation Hall of Fame.” I just looked it up, and there are at least 10 other websites that use the words but that have no relation to the trademark in question. So unless he contacted the owners of every website on the search results, he's just trying to ruin kids' lives.
Or that's what I think. I may be wrong.

Tried that, they didn't like it, and asked us to change it further.

I really don't care about that,as long as no one is hurt(not emotional),but who doesn't like a good animation!

I`ve heard that once, Namco made someone on Scratch take a Pac-Man game down. It raised a lot of controversy. I guess this is just like the Pac-Man incident…
