I think it'll be the last one Sakurai works on. I still think there'll be one for every console.

That’s probably the most likely thing
Smash makes too much money and Sakurai doesn’t want to work on it. I guess he stayed around to make sure they didn’t screw it up and so he could make sure he went out with a bang (if future titles don’t bring back everyone).
