At least you have crabs. Seeing a non-mesquite tree, let alone water, is a rarity here

Snow's better than rain, although that sounds like it sucks

but try 115 degree weather for 3 months of the year, and 100 for like 5 months of the year plus humidity

True true true but 50+ degree weather is better than single digit temps for a week like 25 degrees yesterday actually felt warm

Let's just say each of our local weather sucks and go on with our days

(also it's surprisingly windy here just a few weeks ago it was like 50 mph or something although that is rare)

What is a generic term for a carbonated beverage?

What do you call a long sandwich that contains cold cuts, lettuce, etc?

How do you pronounce pecan?
How do you pronounce bag?
What do you call it when it rains while the sun is still shining?
(I.e sunshower, etc.)
What do you call a rubber soled shoe worn in gym class?

What do you call a long road that many cars drive on?

  • Soda
  • Sub
  • Pe-can
  • B-a-g(?)
  • Rainbow weather?

This is a really cool topic.

So several months ago I saw this study done by The Atlantic (you can watch the video here) where they looked at the different dialects in the United States.

Here are some of the questions:

Those are just a few of the questions, how do you and people in your area pronounce/say these things? Discuss it here.
A. Pop
B. Sub
C. Pea-can
D. Same “a” as in “cat”
E. Just raining while the sun is visible. There's no particular word for it.
F. Tennis shoes
G. Freeway
I'm from Michigan, for the record.

Have a cute, curled up Peridot.
