Restoring deleted projects

Support. I had a project that I took days making but then I accidentally broke it. I didn't know what to do so I just put it in the trash. One day I decided to clear the trash and the project dissipated forever. (well not really, since doing some research I found that “permanently deleted” projects don't actually get deleted, the link just wont be shown anymore in “your stuff”, so you can still access it if you kept the link. I did not) So the point is that after a few hours I found how to fix it. But it was too late, it was gone. So I definitely think that there should be a 48-hour period of time where you have the option to restore the project, before its gone.

That's the whole point of trash. I never empty mine, just in case I'll need something later.

Pretty much only use the forums for save codes now.

Here is my Mario Maker (fan game) world code:

No support, if you put a project in the Trash folder, you don't want it.
And even if you misclick, aren't you asked to put in your password to make sure that you want to delete the projects?

This is my signature. It is not a part of this post and it appears under every post I make.

There is a way!

1. Go to delete my account (I promise)
2. You should see some deleted projects. IF the one is there, click it.
3. Go inside.
4. Go to file. Then, go to “save as a copy”
5. Go to my stuff and you should see “your game” copy.
6. Delete copy from the name!
7. There is no step 7.
Actually, some deleted projects won’t show up in the delete my account page, so maybe it works sometimes.

All the Fnaf 2 projects were deleted but they had warnings on them but they got deleted anyway they were exactly like the real game and the creators worked countless days on it so basically scratch wants us to make masterpieces and trash them after countless hours I like to see one of them make a fnaf project and delete it in other words they shouldn't be able to destroy what we created who's with me!!!
True. They deleted my stuff from my main account that I really enjoyed!
They weren't scary or innapropriate, but the Scratch Team thinks like:

Add this feature to Scratch! It would be useful, even if I have a bunch of projects I will never share in my trash and I never emptied it!

I believe you can already contact the Scratch Team to recover your projects, though.

unfortunately, old messages get deleted after a year.

Everything below this point is not part of the post above, as everything beyond this point is a signature.
A TL;DR of that link is that a signature is text that is added automatically to every post I make; you're allowed to advertise and do whatever you want in it as long as it follows the Community Guidelines.

The aesthetic community is discovering the forums?!?!?!?!?
I feel by next year we wont have the forums anymore, I'm not joking.
How did you find out about the Discussion Forums?

I found this masterpiece of a post:

This is Scratch, not Snap.
Is that the case though? Is it really? Or is it just a figment of your imagination? What if scratch never existed, and you’re just hallucinating? All of these people you’ve met, they might not be anything more than a figment of your imagination? And now that you know this, you have to ask yourself the question: is scratch real? Are you truly on an online platform named scratch? Or are you dreaming, seeing this so-called “programming for kids platform” in a completely different way from everybody else? How can you fully be sure you’re not hallucinating? How can you be so sure that there is a real thing called scratch?

Hello, the project I accidently deleted was an important one to me. I tried the delete account tactic, but that project did not show up.

Why would you put a project you wanted to keep in the Trash in the first place? To be honest, you'd probably only put it there if you didn't like it, so deleting it wouldn't really be much of a hassle… I would've thought that the original “putting in the trash” could be considered the first deletion, and “put back” could be restoring it. “Empty Trash” would be the permanent deletion. No?
They said they deleted it “Accidentally”.

I agree with this suggestion. Kids will be kids and might not fully understand the implications of ‘deleting’ a project or emptying the trash, so another layer of caution couldn't hurt.

emptying trash is meant to empty it restoring defeats the purpose

Does anyone have Garlic? Because I need to ward those pesky Kumquats away.
