Collab: Official Scratch Tutorial Handbook - Researcher and Artist Needed

What this collab is
Goal: to create a project that allows people to search for tutorials, or navigate through different pages to find tutorials.
Tl;dr: a search engine for hundreds of tutorials

Here's the pitch - I assume that you stumbled across this page, thinking: "Why do we need to create a project that gives a compilation of tutorials when we could look at the official wiki, search them up on the web, or just find tutorials directly on Scratch?

Because this is a unique project. The purpose of this collab is to find the very best of each area of scratch's tutorials. We compile these great tutorials into a list, and allow users to search for them to meet their needs. Also, the tutorials we find would be interactive and helpful, instead of the textbook answers in the wiki.

So, we are not looking for programmers. Instead, we look for great researchers to work with, and an artist , and an artist to design the system interface.

The hard details of the project:
There are two ways to access the links to tutorials:
ο Search - search tags and find tutorials with those tags
ο Sitemap - click through hierarchy of tutorials

For the sitemap, each tutorial is organized into 5 categories: Basic, Physics, Data, Pen, Other. Each of these is a page that lists the tutorials in that category.

For the search, we will use tags. Each tutorial will have multiple tags associated with it.

What I expect from finding Tutorials and assigning Tags to them
Regular tutorials should not be like answer keys. Instead, they should guide users in a step by step process so they understand the code.
Game tutorials should not be step-by-step programming instructions for full games. Instead, you should find tutorials on a simple low-quality version of it with mostly game mechanics that users can build upon.
Tags should be unique (don't have both “list” and “lists” tags)

How this collab works:
Finding tutorials comes in three steps.
1. Finding good tutorials on each subject
2. Assign tags to them
3. Collectively vote on the best one for each

Researcher Assignment

The second post contains all the tutorials we need to cover. Your job is to pick one of the topics in that list, research all over and find the best tutorial you can find. Then, post your vote in the studio comments, following the model below:
My Vote: - scratch.mit.edu/projects/67727504/ by griffpatch_tutor for “Platform game mechanics” Topic in the “Physics category” on {date you voted}

I will add it into the “current votes” section in this forum. (just make sure someone has not already posted the same vote with the same link for the same topic in the forum!)

To remain in this collab, you must post at least 8 votes for any topic (you could post 2 votes on one topic if you want) in the studio.

Lastly, I will sometimes hold voting sections IN THE STUDIO. There we will vote and finalize a tutorial for one topic. I will host these when there are 2-3 suggested tutorials for one topic.

Artist Assignment

Submit a main page of this project. No functionality needed, but be as artistic as possible.

Components to include:
- Title
- “List of Tutorials” button
- “Search” button
- “Credits” button

Submit a Search page of this project
This would include the title (same location as main page) a search bar, a “Go” button to the right of it, and a “back” button in a corner. Leave around 1.5 inches vertical by 3 inches horizontal of space (for search results).

I come home from school and I go straight to the computer! I check in the morning and in the evening, and if I have free time, at school.
But on some days, like Spring Break that has just started, I might not be on every day and not as long as usual. Spring break for me lasts until the 26th.

Totally fine. I don't expect anyone to be on every the day, they just gotta complete the weekly assignment during any time of the week

We will need a good text engine. Should it be pen or regular?
