Following a project.
Ok- i was thinking, maybe we could add a follow button to a project page.
What is this ‘following a project’?
I was thinking that we could add a ‘follow’ button to a project page, and then this is what would happen-
Of course, there would also be a unfollow button. for example, you follow ‘scratcheria’ to see when anyone's on currently, then you unfollow it because half of the messages is just loves and favs(and, like, everything else. :b).

Solmux's suggestion:
'there should be an option where you can choose if you want to get messages about this or that project and also a section on your profile saying: “Followed Projects: (10)”.'

Support, but the different options should be toggle-able.
Maybe also get a message when the project creator updates the project?

The problem is that following some very popular projects get a lot of loves, favorites, and comments. Someone might want to follow the project without getting a lot of messages. There could be one message per day like with studio activity.
I don't think there should be a message given if someone loves or favorites as the message would not tell who loved or favorited the project as there is only one message per day. Also, some people may want their loves and favorites to be more private or only shown to their followers and users who go to their profile. Also, there shouldn't be a message when someone else follows the project because some people may want the projects that they have followed to be private as well.
The number of followers of a project should definitely be hidden. Maybe the project creator could receive a message when someone follows their project, but I don't think that's necessary.

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

No support. It might give you spam messages, and users might complain about it.
Note that most of my posts on the forums are from years ago, probably mainly in 2016.
(Unsolved!) How can you see all the shared projects of a deleted account? And some important context. And something else about it.
Please help me answer that question. (From May 2023)
(I know I may seem desperate, the person who owned the account whose projects I am trying to find had been doing some stuff that might need to get taken down)

I'm pretty sure they would be able to unfollow the project. No support. It might give you spam messages, and users might complain about it.
I support, as long as the different options are toggle-able as per alexphan.

I don't think I get the point of your suggestion, I don't see how it could be useful.

My topic: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/215791/?page=1#post-2179151 is not a duplicate of this. My topic is about when the project is updated. I have changed the title.

Anyways, I support, but there is one little detail, if the project is unshared, all the followers messages should be suspended to prevent PMs, maybe with a notification that says something like, "This project has been unshared"?Hah, gotti

Well, it looks like this topic is a duplicate of this one (even though its over 3 years old).
So please go support that one (or add your thoughts to it) so the discussion does not get split up.
