March 2026 SWC Writing Megathread

Hello and welcome to the official SWC writing thread! This thread is for any SWCers to share writing so we don't all have to make our own writing threads. Additionally, the second post of this thread will be a sort of “masterpost” of rules and info about SWC for campers <3

Please read through the first post of this thread whether or not you have read it before - our rules are changed and edited every session as we work on improving SWC! Yes it's long, but all of this information is important for you to know, because we share the forums with the rest of Scratch! If you have any questions afterwards, please ask me or another host on our profiles - that way it's easier for you to get a response without clogging up this thread <3
What you can put here:
Any writing you do during SWC (whether daily, weekly, word war, writing competition entry or just your own writing) can go in this thread! You can either make a new post per piece of writing, or make one post and edit your new writing into it - either is fine!

Please try not to have conversations or chat here - you can post writing, give critique and discuss others' writing but if off topic conversations happen here, it's likely the topic will be deleted or closed by the Scratch Team. We'd like to avoid that. <3

Remember to check any writing you post to make sure it does not contain any personal details or private information. If it does, you can either edit out/change the details or not post the writing! Stay safe online ^^

Ways to use this forum:
There are two main ways to use this forum - but other ways are okay too!

Making one post and editing your new writing into it. If you use this method, please edit new writing into the top of your post, so it's easier for leaders to find!

Making a new post for every writing piece (you could also include an optional “table of contents” post which contains a list of writing pieces and links to them!)

Reporting posts
Please don't hesitate to report other posts if you feel you need to! Valid reasons to report posts include:

- The post shares private information
- The post contains rude/offensive language
- The post is spam or off topic
- The post does not belong in this topic
- The post otherwise breaks Scratch's guidelines or makes you uncomfortable

When you click report, you will be provided with a comment box to explain why you reported the post - and please do so! It helps the forum moderators understand what you want them to do.

On the Scratch forums, there are lots of reasons you can report things other than that they're inappropriate. Reporting is not trying to get the user in trouble, picking on the user, or going behind their back - it's simply helping to keep the forums organized, tidy and Scratch safe. You won't get in trouble for reporting a post that doesn't need reporting, as there are no rules as to what does and doesn't need reporting. So it's fine to report posts that don't belong in this thread, are off topic, or are spam as well as inappropriate posts.

Discussing people's writing
It's completely okay to respond to and comment on people's writing here. However:

People won't necessarily see your responses to their writing, because they don't get a notification when you quote their writing. Instead, you can comment on their profile, either commenting on their writing there or saying something like “hey! I responded to your writing piece here: <link>”

It's also fine to give critique to others' writing here, but make sure to give the person the link to your critique!
Also, please keep in mind that not everyone here will want critique on their writing! Make sure to ask permission before giving anyone critique.

To get the link to a post, right click the top left corner of the post, where it says the date and time it was posted. Then click “copy link address”, and paste the link wherever you need it.

Personal writing threads
Personal writing threads will be allowed this session! However, please only make one forum topic for just your writing - put it in the "Things I'm Making and Creating" forum, and use that topic for the whole of this SWC session. This means not creating a new topic for, say, your writing competition entry, and certainly not creating a new topic for each writing piece, as this is a nightmare for forum moderators and other people using the forums.
It is still highly recommended that you use the megathread in order to be considerate to other forumers! Having a lot of different writing topics makes it harder to find other topics, so please consider carefully whether you'd be willing to use the megathread before creating a personal topic

Other Ways to Share Writing
Not everyone wants to share their writing in the forums, and that's fine - here are some other places it's okay to share your writing!

You could create a new scratch project (perhaps on an alternate account if you don't want to share writing on your main account!) and share your writing as an in-project comment, in the description and notes and credits, or pasted into a costume using the text tool.

You can take a photo or screenshot of your writing and either put it inside a scratch project or upload it to cubeupload, then share that link. You will need an account to use cubeupload, but it's a safe way to share images and the Scratch team allows it.

Please note that blankslate is not allowed. If you don't know what it is, it's a writing sharing program that we used to use frequently in SWC but is no longer allowed because of its lack of moderation.

Do not attempt to bypass Scratch's filter in order to share writing on sites that are not allowed. Not only are these sites banned for a reason, but you will get caught if you attempt to share links to them on Scratch. Proof shared via other sites will not count. Cubeupload is the exception to this rule, as it is allowed by Scratch in order to share images on the forums ^^

Thanks everyone, and happy writing!

(Many thanks to Kat, Sun, Luna, Robin and Linden for writing the megathread post in previous sessions, from which this was mainly copied!)

SWC Megathread ࿔*:ଳ・ March 2026

Camper Rules

If you believe any of these rules shouldn’t apply / should apply differently for a specific case (e.g. adding a daily when this guide says not to), take it to the hosts! We’re happy to deal with edge cases and/or disputes on an individual basis. Questions about these should be taken to your leader or a host's profile, not asked here

TLDR
  • Only literary words may be added - see the first section below for a full description of this!
  • Leaders may ask for proof of writing if they believe the amount you're adding is unrealistic.
  • You must give an explanation of what you were writing when you add words. Leaders will not add words without this.
  • You may not add more than 10,000 words at once.
  • Dailies and weeklies must be commented in the Main Cabin before they end, even if the description has not yet been updated.
  • Proof for dailies and weeklies must be shown on Scratch. There will not be exceptions to this rule for having inappropriate writing.
Proof of winning a word war isn't necessary - they're run on an honor system.
  • Please do not escalate arguments! Simply stop responding and report any offensive comments.
  • Make sure not to take cabin rivalries too far and remember that the point is to have fun!
Adding words

You can add words whenever you write literarily using your cabin’s word counting method - this will most likely mean commenting the number of words you wrote in your cabin’s word counting location (this will likely be a studio but could also be a forum, profile or project!) as well as a summary/brief description of what you are adding. (E.g. “+503 words for part of an essay”.)
Your leaders will add these words to your total.
We keep track of words during SWC as they make up part of a cabin’s total points at the end of the session as well as acting as a motivation factor for campers.

*See a list of things that count below:

What counts
  • Roleplay - As a guideline, you should be somewhat in character and there should be description of actions in addition to dialogue
  • Fictional writing
  • Non-fictional writing
  • Literary journal entries
  • Writing in another language - if you’re unsure on how many words to add because the language counts writing in a different way (e.g. character counts in Chinese), Google Translate it to English and use that word count. We hope that this will be close to the number of words it would be in spoken language, but if you have a different suggestion, please let us know!
  • Schoolwork - essays, assignments that include literary/analytical writing (such as worksheets requiring analysis of parts of a novel) but not note taking or non-literary writing such as writing out math problems
  • Giving critique (but only the words you wrote! If you gave 1000 words of critique but 300 of those were quotes of the original writing, add 700 words)
  • Stream of consciousness writing
  • Vents/rambles
  • Formal emails that are longer than a paragraph
  • Explanatory SWC dailies that are longer than a paragraph
  • Words from comics
  • Parodies (so long as it’s mostly your original thought)
As a general rule, if it contains your original ideas, it counts.

What doesn’t count
  • Notetaking
  • Texting, commenting, etc.
  • Copying another person’s writing
  • Translating
  • Writing thing out from memory / copying things out (e.g. copying out a textbook, lyric spam)
  • Code - even if using a text based programming language!
Needing proof
  • If your leader thinks that the amount you’re writing is unrealistic, they may ask for proof or choose not to add it.
  • You must outline what you were writing when you add words. Your leaders will not be allowed to add the words otherwise! (a sufficient outline could look like: “365 words were from an english worksheet, 1946 were from working on my novel, 568 from the daily, 2868 from working on an essay”. Be aware that a timespan for the writing is not a sufficient outline!)
  • If you are uncomfortable sharing proof for writing, that’s okay! Exceptions to giving proof (even for large blocks of writing) can be provided on an individual basis and you will have better luck getting one if you cooperate and are willing to give partial proof and detailed explanations/descriptions on what you’ve written. Other solutions to this can include giving a leader/host proof in a discreet location (on scratch of course - this could be editing an old forum post or putting it in a comment inside an old project).

Reserves
  • Reserves are words that you don’t add right away.
  • Only up to 10k words may be added at a time, regardless of whether or not you share the writing.
  • An exception may be granted if you were unable to access Scratch for over a week. Please contact a host if this is the case!
  • All words become reserves after camp is over in all timezones.

Activities
  • Activities must be submitted before they end in UTC, even if the Main Cabin description has not been updated yet!
  • Campers and leaders are expected to give all required proof for weeklies and dailies, and it must be submitted on time to earn points.
  • Proof must be provided on Scratch, and all writing must be Scratch appropriate if you need to provide proof for it. Photos of writing count as proof, and may be shared using a Scratch-approved image host.
Dailies
  • If you have a question about a daily, ask in the main cabin! Hosts and/or leaders will make a judgment on this - if you’re a camper, please refrain from answering any questions that are subject to interpretation (clarifying rules and such is fine!), leave it to the leaders and hosts please <3
  • Extensions for dailies are unavailable as there really isn’t any point in granting them given the low point value and short timeframe of dailies.
Weeklies
  • If you are uncomfortable sharing proof for a weekly, you should contact the hosts or your leader as early as possible. Exceptions to giving proof can be provided on an individual basis and you will have better luck getting one if you let us know early (as opposed to simply refusing to give proof when trying to add your weekly). Other solutions to this can include giving a leader/host proof in a discreet location (on scratch of course - this could be editing an old forum post or putting it in a comment inside an old project).
  • If you have queries about a weekly, try to wait until a host or member of the daily team can clarify.
  • Extensions for weeklies can be granted on an individual basis. You should let the hosts know as early as possible and you can discuss it with us from there.

Writing Competition, Word Wars, & Cabin Wars

Information on these events is provided as time progresses during the session. However, if you have any questions beforehand, you’re more than welcome to reach out to a host with them!

Honoraries

Honoraries are people who are NOT participating in a session of SWC, but are invited by a leader to hang out in a cabin as an unofficial member and boost morale and/or have a role in the storyline. However, they are restricted from doing anything that leaders would typically do, such as adding words. They may not be listed in the cabin description.

If you would like to partake in a different cabin's activities or storyline, you can ask that leader if you can do so. This does NOT make you an honorary. Rather, you are just a member of a cabin who is participating in the activities of another cabin. The leader may agree or refuse (and they may decide how much of a role you can have and which of the activities you may do), and you are expected to be accepting of any decision they make. Leaders are also not allowed to list people who do this in the cabin description, and they cannot make any further contributions than completing the activities.

Anyone is welcome to hang out or boost cabin morale in other cabins at any point. Do try to be the most enthusiastic in your own cabin, though — your fellow campers will appreciate it!

Please see this project if you have more questions.

Arguments and Drama
  • If any links to leader discussions are leaked, please ignore the comments. If it can be classified as spam, you can report the comments, but please don’t mass report with multiple accounts as that can lead to alerts from the ST.
  • If you get into a fight with anyone, it’s best to stop responding so it doesn’t escalate. You can ask your leader or a host for help. Of course, report any offensive material you see as part of such an argument (e.g. projects calling people to report a specific user or people speaking badly about others).
  • Please take care to not take cabin rivalries too far! Using this tone indicators guide can be helpful in ensuring that no one’s feelings get hurt. If you do feel that someone has gone beyond friendly jokes, you can remind them that it’s just for fun, report the comments, or ask a leader/host for help, depending on what you feel fits the situation!

Thanks for reading all of this! Again, if you have any questions or believe there should be an exception, please comment on a host's profile, not in this forum <3

SWC Megathread ࿔*:ଳ・ March 2026

Intro
1032 words

Hey there and welcome to yet another 1k intro! I’m Silvi (she/her) and this will be my 9th session of SWC! This session I will be co-leading Dystopian with Snowy and Skylar and I can’t wait to get started!!

I am a Catholic tea loving bookworm and writer from England! My favourite book series is probably ‘Shadow and Bone’ by Leigh Bardugo who wrote the very well known ‘Six of Crows’ duology as well! I absolutely love the fantasy world she has created with Grisha and Ravka and it’s SO GOOD!! You should definitely go read it ^^
I recently finished a book called ‘Divine Rivals’ by Rebecca Ross. She’s an author who I had heard really good things about so I just picked it up and it was amazing! The main character works at the paper and she has a rival there and there’s ink and magic and myths and it’s so cosy <33 I also love Bea Fitzgerald, who writes mythology romance books which are some of my favourite of all time! I’ve recently been reading a lot more historical-fiction or deeper fiction like ‘The Book Thief’ by Markus Zusak and Ruta Sepetys. ‘The Book Thief’ is one of the best books I’ve ever read but I cried so much. I watched the film first and it was heartbreaking.

Onto films now! I haven’t really watched loads of films to be honest, but I’ll include TV series as well in here! Harry Potter is a classic and I must have watched all the films (apart from Half-Blood Prince) at least 5 times! Narnia is another set of films which I have been watching from a very young age, and I love to watch it at Christmas! Speaking of Christmas films, the Nutcracker is another beautiful film to watch and the vibes are so Christmassy <3 I love to watch Anne of Green Gables in the spring - if you know, you know. I have also watched a lot of war films (my dad’s only film/book genre is war!!) including Charlotte Gray and a film about a man called ‘Nicholas Winton’ which also had me crying buckets!
Now TV series! I basically grew up on Horrible Histories and I could probably recite most of the sketches from Series 1-5 and I can sing the whole Monarch Song as well as many others! Ghosts, which is a sitcom made by the same people as Horrible Histories, is something that I still watch. I didn’t understand any of the jokes in it when I was younger, but coming back to it there are a LOT of hilarious jokes! And I just found out they’re making a film which I’m SO excited about! His Dark Materials is another brilliant TV series, based on the books by Philip Pullman and I honestly think anyone would like them, and Good Girl’s Guide to Murder was also a series I enjoyed so much! There was a children’s TV show I watched when I was younger called Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter which is based on a Scandinavian book! The animation is not quite Studio Ghibli but honestly it’s getting close! It was the most beautiful children’s series I had ever watched and is so underrated <3

Wow, I yapped a LOT there! And already over halfway through!

Now, onto a really big part of my life - music! I have been playing the flute for a few years now and absolutely love it! I most recently completed Grade 5, but had to skip my Grade 6 so technically I’m ‘working towards Grade 7.’ First I have to complete my Grade 5 music theory, which is super hard and likely not happening anytime soon! I am involved with numerous bands and ensembles and my school as well as playing in the music group and church! In October, I joined my county’s Wind Band which is a massive opportunity and we get to go on tour to Spain in the summer EEEEEE <33
I also love singing and recently joined ‘Chapel Choir’ in my school which is the fancy choir :eyes:
Now onto my favourite music artists! I listen to a lot of chilled out music, like Laufey who is a jazz-pop singer and has the most majestic voice! I also love Lyn Lapid and have recently started to listen to a lot of classical music!

I got into crochet just under a year ago and have been unhealthily obsessed with it ever since! I started off by making misshapen rectangles and baby whales, and now I have completed my first cardigan and I’m working on my second at the moment! I love crocheting presents for my friends like hanging plants and book sleeves <3 Once I’ve completed my cardigan, I plan to work on making a blanket! I found a STUNNING pattern last night but I am struggling with what colour choices I should do. I know that I’m going to do a cream base for the whole blanket but there are other colours as well that I need to incorporate. The blanket is called “Woodland Bloom Granny Square Blanket” if you’d like to look and help me <3 I really like the colours of the website but they don’t really match theme of my room - honestly, I think I will go with the colours on the website because they shouldn’t clash too much and whenever I try to pick colours, it all goes wrong usually and looks really bad (

I’m not sure what to talk about now that I’ve ranted about crochet….
FOOD.

I will never be able to pick a favourite food, but I adore tacos - but the soft ones and with specific fillings (not chilli.) My dad makes the best tacos with guacamole, refried beans, rice, sour cream, cheese, lime, corianders, fried onions and pepper and chicken and it is the best thing in the world! I love Asian food especially Thai - my favourite curry is massaman curry which is an Indian-Thai curry! Just hit 1k - that’s my first 1,000 words of this session!!

I hope you enjoyed listening to me rant for over 1,000 words and I can’t wait for this March <3

Tilly's Writing Thread
Word goal: 20k -> 35k -> 50k | FINAL word count: 65,904 :00 | Dystopian ftw!! <3

──── ౨ৎ ────
(1k intro!)
Bahaha why is this my first time doing this after so many sessions??
WELCOME to my 1k intro (if anyone is even reading this lol)
I'm Tilly, I'm old (I can count the years till I'm 20 with one hand, what the hay :'0) I reside in the rolling Northern hills of the UK, and after FINALLY scrolling through the archives to count, I calculated I've been in 11 SWC sessions (counting this one) :O
The nostalgia hit me like a truck when I was scrolling through the destroyed cabins to find out ahh </3
November is my probably favourite month because it's my birthday month AND it's Autumn, which is probably my favourite season! Although, all the seasons are beautiful to be honest, and I also LOVE snow, so Winter comes really close! My birthday lands right in the not-yet-Christmas-but-Merry-Christmas action too, so it's overall very festive every time xD
I'm just going to start rambling haha, here we go! :
Let's start with hobbies! Writing is obviously one, definitely a love/hate relationship LOLL but I can't imagine myself ever NOT writing stories–I've been doing it my whole life, really. I can't even pinpoint an exact age, perhaps 5 or even YOUNGER- my older brother and I have always been telling stories, thinking stories, etc, we'd even make PHYSICAL books with covers and pages by folding paper and just free writing on them!
The thing is though…I've never finished a full draft before :'0 (Or TECHNICALLY I haven't…I've finished a couple of those physical-paper-novels before (2 off the top of my head), but never any of my PROPER, typed-on-a-document attempts :'D
SWC saved the writing side of my life, though, because without it, I probably wouldn't have sharpened my writing skills as much as I have, so this has my heart forever <33
Thinking about it now, I only have 3 WIPs I've actively tried, as in ACTUALLY tried following the process of planning > outline > write (except…barely, because I pantsed all of them at most points and planned VERY lightly-), but I've had HUNDREDS of stories in my head that I just never put to paper, my days-
The first was contemporary, about camping, and actually quite boring xd The second was hi-fi I think, set in 1980s where these sisters from the 80s were whisked back in time to the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, that one I worked the most on in terms of researching, I did a lot- the last draft got up to 20k+ words I believe-
Until I dropped it for my third WIP in 2023, which is now my CURRENT WIP!
The original version of this WIP I started was under-planned, pantsed as usual, and I got around 26.4k words into a draft until I somehow stopped writing it for MONTHS, maybe a year even?? Then when I came back I thought “darn, this is a mess”, and nowww it's my WIP again except I'm all the way back at the worldbuilding and character building in general that I didn't even properly do :'0 IT'S WORK- at points I just want to skip straight to outlining and get writing, but I'm trying to control myself xD
So this WIP is essentially low fantasy (I don't know if that's the right term for this yet, but basically there's no magic, but some fantastical elements), set in those swords-kingdoms-royalty-wars vibes (which is probably my favourite of all time, I don't know why but I love those vibes so so muchhhh)
Anddd you know when writers get stuck trying to explain “oh, what is your book about?”, that's me right now ASDFGHJKL sooo very light touch, but /at the moment/ there's 4 main characters, a commoner (FMC), a prince (MMC1), the heir (MMC2), and a knight (MMC3), and I started following themes of unity (a quote best describing it would be “united we stand, divided we fall” I guess lol), but this is an extremely light description, there's a lot more to it xD
ANYWAY moving on because I haven't even gotten to the rest of me yettt:
Baking is another hobby, I love baking (but I haven't done it in a couple months, especially because our oven has been broken ), I've also been into baking my whole life because my Mum did professional cake decorating (she was a very high profile person in that industry actually, I'm so proud lolll-) since I was born, so I grew up around cakes <3
I love music, I started playing Ukulele in 2022, but for months now I haven't actually touched it (it's hanging on my wall right next to me right now haha), but we'll get into why in a second :'))
I've had this random urge to learn piano, or electric or bass guitar (whichever one is the one I'm thinking of right now HEH) for some reason, I think people who can play those (and violin! and multiple other instruments ahaha) are really cool :00
Crocheting is another hobby, but I also haven't done that in a few months :'0
OK so the reason why: watching football (or soccer as most of you call it) took over my life in June 2024 xD
Moreover, I started making s0cial m3dia content on football (on the clock app, you tub3, instant graham cracker), getting my foot in the door to work in sports eventually really :eyes:
It's been drainingggg though, and it was a major reason why I didn't touch writing for almost half a year?? (and why crocheting, playing ukulele, etc. stopped :'D) It's another love/hate hobby asdfghjkl but I love watching football so much )
OH, how can I forget: reading! I've also loved reading since I could read (probably 5 again or something), I've been a HUGE bookworm, but unfortunately I haven't been reading as much as I would like recently- I'm slugging through a non fiction book at the moment and I didn't know how arduous it would be ToT It's not even boring, but I'm reading it so slowlyyy- also because of the football content-
OOH, anddd watching movies has been an all-time favourite hobby for YEARS, fuelled my love for storytelling just as much as writing itself! Unfortunately again, recently we've (my fam and I) come to the realisation that a lot of movies are lowkey trash But I've loved things like the MCU (the Captain America films, Avengers films, Black Panther 1 and 2 particularly off the top of my head), Mission Impossible (4 to 6 were peak!), Pride and Prejudice (also saw the 1995 series, and both are amazing for me <33), Little Women (both 2019 and 1994), NARNIA (I can't stop thinking about this!! Love the trilogy, want to watch it again so bad ahaha :'0), Lord of the Rings (this is iconic cinema honestly, I loved it so much!!), and there's more but that's what I can think of right now. (All the books of the ones that are adaptions here I've read, and they're also among my favourite books )
OK finally did a 1k intro! This was fun ) DYSTOPIAN FTWWW

Storm’s writing
SWC Apr 26

Weekly 4: Welcome to the last weekly of the session, demigods! Grab your swords and get ready to suit up in your armor, because this week we're headed to the SWCea of Monsters!

Total words: 2096

Write 200 words to start your story; total 213 words
Storm looked at Sir Perry, who suddenly stopped and pinned his ears. Something was off. Something was not right in the SWC town. They could hear quiet distant whispers… what was that? Just the wind? Or something alive? Or dead, were that ghosts? But it was neither… something worse has haunted the town. Storm noticed a list on the wall and came over to see. She gasped. “ALL HAIL THE CYBER RAT” it said. Rats. And not just rats. Cyberrats. Terrifying cyber monsters with cute little eyes and a strong desire for cheese. And this was the reason they were up in the town. Cheese. SWC town was famous for its cheese factories. Sir Perry growled. He loved the cheese too. Everyone in the town did. If the rats will take over… they will get all the cheese. And the cheese was too good to share with enemies, no matter who will win in this war. “We must do something!!” Storm gasped. “I mean… you must. You are the Adventerrier here, after all. And I will call everyone to help. Go knight!” And Sir Perry went on, sniffing out the rats. This didn’t seem so bad after all. Rats are yummy, after all. He smirked as he caught the scent. Something metal mixed with soup scent. Here goes the knight of Everglow…

400 words; total 456 words
Meanwhile Storm has found Chocolate, who already knew about the Cyberrat Infection. “That’s very sad”, she said. “Anyway…” Storm raised her eyebrow, suspiciously looking at Chocolate. “No, no! I am not with the Cyber Rats”, Chocolate chuckled, “just look at the bright side of it”. “What side?” Storm moaned. “There’s literally WAR in the town! And what if they steal our cheese? Have you thought of it?!” Chocolate gave Storm a head pat. “What side? Are you not excited? We will eat all the rats as a fine addition to our cheese!! Come on, let me show you”. She pulled Storm’s hand, leading her to a sunny meadow with lots of cooking stuff. “Good rat morning! Who’s up and looking forward to eat some delicious cyber rats? And also people give me your orders how do you wanna it to be cooked”, she yelled. Suddenly Storm saw that there were many people in the meadow. Some cheered, others frowned as they heard Chocolate’s announcement. Some started ordering stuff like patzza, delicious rat sushi, even more delicious rat swedish meatballs and rat chowder bread bowl. Others preferred deep fried rats with toenail garnish. But some people on the side of the meadow screamed and tried to interrupt everyone. “WE DO NOT EAT RATS HERE”, screamed Seagull. “ALL HAIL THE GREAT CYBER RAT”, Zy and Yume were supporting her. Fortunately, they were behind the fence, so they couldn’t really enter the rat eating restaurant.

Sir Perry was coming to the rat cookout with his mouth full of the cyber rats he met this night. His stomach was full. Suddenly he dropped his rats because he saw a cat! It was a Magreal cat. The main one, their leader. Sir Perry realised that cats eat the rats too, and Magrealcat seemed to be back from a rat hunt too. She looked at Sir Perry and hissed, expecting a “fight or flight” common scenario. But Sir Perry was thinking. He was thinking deeply. “ Shall I chase you now or do we fight the rats together?” he said finally. Magrealcat looked at him suspiciously and after a second slowly answered, “well… an alliance sounds like a better solution nowadays” “So be it”, agreed Sir Perry. “Alliance against the cyber rats.”

Meanwhile in the Great Cyberrat headquarters office… Mouse sneaked to the dark, mysterious office with neon flashlights and stared at the Great Cyberrat. “Hello. I am Mouse. I too want the cheese. Can we alliance maybe?” The Cyberrat slapped the table with both fists, Mouse jumped. “YES!!! ABSOLUTELY. We rodents shall stick together! Together… our armies will be twice as powerful. We will get over all the cheese factories easily”. Mouse nodded and grinned, “that’s good. We mice love cheese. Now I shall go and tell my friends about this new alliance.” and she sneaked out the way she came in.

300 words; total 304 words
“Wait what about those folks?” Storm whispered, not even sure why does she whisper. “Are they fighting on the side of Cyberrats?” “Oh right! Time for a small lore drop”, gasped Chocolate. “Those ones… wait… how are they gone already?” Everyone who heard Chocolate turned at the screaming three, but that was right, they have disappeared. No one seemed to be sad about it, since everyone could enjoy their ratzza and rat sushi in peace now, but Storm frowned. “What are they up to?” “They are the Great Cyber Rat’s elite. They were the ones to allow Cyberrats into the town and to glue all the evil posters on the streets.” explained Chocolate. “We cannot be sure if they are not attacking the Factory right now…” “Maybe we should check out the cat rebellion!” someone called Starri gasped. “What in the dust bunnies is the cat rebellion” said Chocolate. “THE ONE THE ONLY CAT ALLIANCE”, a girl called Ari interrupted her. “YOU GO I’LL COOK THE RATZZA FOR FOLKS”

Sir Perry has cooked all his delicious rats and was going to finish eating them when suddenly Mouse appeared and shouted, “Get cyber poisoned mwahahaha!!” Sir Perry snorted, “I am immune to cyber rat poison. In fact, I find it quite good. And who are you?” Then Magreal cat, who was making rats-on-a-stick, hissed hungrily: “That’s Mouse! I shall eat her like these rats.” Suddenly Chocolate appeared and screamed, “No!! Do not touch Mouse!! She is not for eating!!” Magrealcat narrowed her eyes and went away, and Sir Perry moaned, “Whyyyy she looked so yummy…” but Mouse has already disappeared. So he continued eating his ratzza. Meanwhile Magrealcat hissed to herself in the dark streets, “No way we shall trust her now… Chocolate thinks mice are siblings but they are RODENTS… I should recall my cat army to spy on mice a bit… I doubt they are as innocent as Chocolate thinks”. And she smirked.

400 words; total 402 words
Meanwhile Storm looked around in confusion, stared at Starri and asked: “Wait where’s Chocolate? She was here like just a moment ago”. Starri turned around and admitted, “Yeah, where can she be? Never mind, I’m sure she is fine. Maybe saw some cyber rats and wanted to take them to the cookout to make some extra ratzza. I dunno”. “So… we keep going?” “Yeah, we keep going” - Starri seemed excited to check out the Magreal cat rebellion. “But where? It’s a dead end!” Storm frowned and gave Starri the most bombastic side eye, “don’t tell me that you’ve lost your way the moment Chocolate disappeared”. Starri nervously giggled, “of course not. I just took the wrong turn… probably…” They looked around. It was a surprisingly murky street for a town that was attacked by Cyber Rat just some hours ago. Dark, gloomy, dump… and no cheese in sight! They could hear distant barking of the Adventerrier army under Sir Perry’s command and screaming and squealing of the cyber rats, but… nothing else. No hissing of the Magrealcats of the cat rebellion, nothing. “So, where is the cat rebellion? Is it not a thing anymore or were they eaten by rats?” Storm said sarcastically. “Look!” Suddenly Starri pointed at a small hidden door behind a huge box. “I wonder where it leads…” “Let’s check it out,” suggested Storm, and they slowly opened the door… behind it there was a tunnel, leading somewhere into the dry, warm, homely darkness. They could hear distant voices coming from it. As one, they ducked inside to follow the tunnel and discover what it hides… In the end, there was a wooden door. Flashing neon lights were seeping from cracks of it, and now Storm and Starri could hear the voices well. Someone was talking right behind it. Three familiar voices were talking to someone who remained silent. “We have tricked the Magreal cats, boss. They all had to hide on their main cheese factory.” Another voice continued, “we surrounded them with our cyber rat army and they had to hide. There were too much of us. Now we have most of the southern part of the town. It’s almost a half”. Another voice added, “But the cheese factories are still filled with cats! How we’re going to get rid of them? And Adventerriers are eating our army on the west. We need a new plan now! Something they don’t expect.”

Non-writing activity; I’ve made pancakes for this part of the weekly

500 words; total 510 words
Then a cold, ratsy rat voice spoke. “Mouse. Chocolate trusts her.” “Yes, that’s smart!” The first voice exclaimed. Suddenly Starri whispered, “No way! It’s Seagull! And the other two must be Yume and Zy.” “What? For real!” Storm whispered back. “They are working with the Great Cyber Rat! We must do something!” Starri nodded, “and tell Chocolate about Mouse! We must protect our cheese!” Suddenly the door broke, and Storm with Starri fell inside the cyber-neon dark room. The Cyber Rat, Seagull, Yume and Zy stared at them in shock with their mouths open. Then Cyber Rat screamed, “they heard everything!! Don’t let them go” but then something rumbled under the ground and they all heard a sound of coming water. The Cyberrat Rat turned green and mumbled, “under the sea”. Then it run as fast as it could, leaving the five people alone in embarrassment.

Magreal cats on the cheese factory heard the rumbling too. They panicked, because they also heard some flowing water noises and everyone knows that most of cats hate swimming. Even the great cats of the rebellion. So they decided to climb the factory roof to figure out what was going on. Just on time… the town turned into a sea, and the building roofs were ships. The main Magrealcat mewed, “Well, we all are on a ship now. Not that bad. Wait… Can you see it?” Sir Perry was the captain of a ship called “Terrier”. The ship crew were all the Adventerriers, just like Magreal cats on their ship which just happened to have a name of “Mousetrap”. But what was that big dark ship on the horizon? The name… It was glowing with neon… “CyberRATtack” it said?!
And so, the Great SWCea Battle has started. CybeRATtack tried to sink Mousetrap with cannonball shooting, but then suddenly Adventerrier sailed from the behind and tried to sink CybeRATtack. Rats were squealing angrily, cats were hissing furiousely, terriers were growling boldly and biting every rat they could get their teeth on. Then for a moment everyone silently agreed to take a small break, when suddenly they heard a scream. In the open sea, there was a small boat. In it there were Chocolate and Mouse. They both were screaming and pointing at something, trying to get everyone's attention. Chocolate shouted to cats and terriers, while Mouse was trying to reach… well, Cyberrats. Starri and Magrealcat stared at Mouse, trying to get what she was trying to tell Cyberrats. “Maybe it is a secret message?” Starri yelled, because it was really noisy out there. Sir Perry happened to be near them. He barked sarcastically: “Yeah, a secret message to scream all over the sea!” Then Adventerriers pinned their ears at once. “WHAT DO THEY SAY?” Storm shouted. Then, finally, the distant scream reached their ears, and they all heard the words that could make a superhero tremble. “HAIRY SNAILS!” “HAIRY SNAILS RUN YOU FOOLS!”
On the CybeRATtack, the Great Cyber Rat laughed insanely, “Hairy snails? We will eat them and our ship is unsinkable… and we will get the cheese when we're done with all of you!!!”
200 words to complete your story; total words 211 NOT INCLUDING ALANA'S SINGING!
But them, more rumble came - from underwater now. Here and there whirlpools appeared. And everyone saw… The Great Haily Snail, an ancient creature of the sea, out to eat some rats. And maybe cheese. Mostly cheese. Seagull, Yume and Zy screamed and in last attempt to reach the cheese jumped on the Mousetrap. But the Great Cyber Rat did not follow them. It, and all other rats, screamed and turned (neon) green , because the Great Hairy Snail was their worst enemy. So they started jumping in the water, like if their ship was sinking. Chocolate, Mouse, Seagull, Storm, Yume, Starri, Zy, Sir Perry, Magrealcat, all the cats of the rebellion and all the terriers were now on one ship - Mousetrap, which was originally a cheese factory, and stared at the Hairy Snail who was eating rats. In the distant there was floating a ship with all other swc-ers who were at the rat cookout. “AND WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF THIS MESS?!” Ari and the others on the Cookout ship all finally burst out of annoyed screams, being really confused about all the noise and chaos. Then, the hairy snail stopped eating rats and dove underwater. And they all heard… singing.

ARIEL YOU BETTER listen to me
The human world, it's a mess
Life under the swcseaaaa
Is better than any bananas they got up there

“Oh… Alana Fools.”

The seaweed is always sparkly
In somebody else's cake
You dream about going up there
But that is a rat-like mistake
Just look at the cats around you
Right here on the ocean floor
Such silly things surround you
What more is you lookin' for?

THE END BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO TELL (don't worry soon after the song ends the SWCea becomes a village again… with lots of traumatised folks XD)

Daily 24: Descriptions — everyone loves to indulge in the colours and sights of the world around their character when writing one. But what if you weren't allowed to use sight in a description?

Niko could hear echoes of his barefoot footsteps on the cold, icy solid floor. Maybe it was marble. Chilly air was reminding of old ruins or huge deep caves. What kind of place was that? Silence ruled here, and when Niko stopped and echoes faded, the only sound he could here was his own breathing. But then his ear caught some distant whispers and lisps. Suddenly, as he continued walking, echoes concentrated, became softer and came so close to his ears, that he stopped and reached his hand in the void. He has almost hit the wall. Niko went on with tips of his fingers on it. The wall was just as cold and smooth as the floor, with tiny cracks in the stone and joints from slabs. Then whispers became clearer and weren’t as mysterious and ghostly as before, turning to something so familiar… until Niko could hear whispering leaves and bird songs. There must have been an exit from this icy place. But where? He stopped and listened. Warm breeze touched his skin with sudden, bringing vivid and sunny smells of laurel, thyme, cypress, soil and salt. Niko left the wall and stepped towards the sounds, unsure and carefully. After some steps the wind rushed into his face, playing with Niko’s hair, making it even messier. Echoes were left behind, in front of his there was a sea of sounds, hitting him like a tidal wave. He stopped for a moment to figure it out and then went on, stumbling upon a stone border. Then he felt pebbles under his feet - it was a garden trail. The sun rays reached his face, being so different from the cold still air of the place that was behind. The air here was hot and dry, smelling like salt and herbs. Probably a herb garden? Niko reached out to touch the plants - rosemary, thyme, caraway, flowers everywhere… Niko had never touched or smelled such gentle and beautiful flowers. Then there were huge cypress trees, giving soft shade from the burning sun. And there were many other trees - unfamiliar, with thin graceful branches and round leaves. Niko was amazed and stood there with his mouth open. Was this the paradise? Or? Suddenly he heard fast footsteps on the trail behind his back. He turned around and heard a shout: “Hey! What do you think you are doing here in the palace?! Who ever let you here?!” Niko froze in horror, but then suddenly another voice royally interrupted the first one, “It’s okay, Alexandros, you can go”.

Daily 23: Chosen one? Evil twin? Orphaned before the first sentence? Today, pack as many clichés and stereotypes as you can into a single story. Love triangles, dramatic monologues, sudden storms, or wise mentors—embrace them all. Make it predictably chaotic and have fun twisting every trope.

(This one was really goofy ok XD)

“Aaaaaaaa!!!” - he screamed as he fell… deeper… deeper…
He woke up in an evergreen forest. It was sunrise, and it was pretty mostly and chilly. Weird… he couldn’t remember anything about his past. “Who am I? Where am I from? Where am I now? What’s my name?” - he wondered as he walked in the forest, going south because he saw smoke there. Suddenly he saw a village in the clearing, but no people. “How odd”, he thought. He decided to knock to very first door. He heard someone’s footsteps behind it, and after a while an old man opened the door. He gave the boy shelter and then listened to his - quiet short - story. He was sitting there for a while, thinking mysteriously, and then he told a prophecy about this country. It said that one day “A nameless will come and will kill the dragon to save the kingdom”. “Wait!” - exclaimed the main character. “What is the dragon, and what kind of place is this?” The old man sighed. “Our kingdom was occupied by a dragon. It killed our king in the last century and now lives in the palace, probably because of the treasure. It eats people and their animals. Our country lives in fear. People are scared just to go outside. Several times groups of people tried to kill the dragon but all of them failed. I was the only survivor of the last group.” Then the old man said, “well, you can’t live without a name. The author gets so tired of using “he” and “the boy”. So I’ll give you the name George, if you don’t mind. It’s a noble name.” George didn’t mind, because he doesn’t want to be just a boy either. Then he said: “I’ll go and try to kill the dragon. Maybe I am the nameless from the prophecy, and I haven’t got anything else to do anyways.” The old man cheered and gave him his old sword. He told George to be careful and watch the sky. He wished George good luck. So the hero went on on his journey to the palace. On his way he saw many ruined villages. When he was near the palace, he suddenly saw a peasant that was pretty scared and annoyed. It was going north. He said that the dragon is probably sleeping and will be sleeping for a while. “He took my sheep and my neighbours. I am not staying here any minute longer. Goodbye, crazy boy”. But George didn’t turn back and sneaked to the place. The dragon was asleep so he easily killed him despite the fact that many people tried to do it before and failed. Then he became king and never found out his real name. The end.

Daily 14: Circles, spirals, loops—the number 3.14159… goes on forever. Today’s daily, inspired by pi day, is all about repetition and return. Write a piece that comes back to where it began, whether through an image, a line, a mistake, or a moment that refuses to stay buried. Let the connection be subtle or obvious, literal or symbolic, but make it matter.

“Are you completely sure you know the way?” Max said suspiciously, staring at the guy in front of us. He snorted. “Of course I do. I've memorised the whole map before we were sent here, I tell you. Do you want to win or not?” “Okay”, Max seemed to be relieved but he didn't want to show this guy that he was… okay, let's admit it. We both weren't sure we will successfully make it out of the most confusing labyrinth in the whole Azurde. But this guy from our school seemed to know what he was doing, so we followed. Oliver - that was the guy's name - confidently and quickly walked in the paths of the Labyrinth, slowing down a bit on the turns. We followed, and every step made us imagine us three with the medals, as winners. Suddenly the ground begun to shake and we screamed, because water begun to flow on us from the walls. We were wet to the bones, and angry as bees. “Did you know it was coming?!” I screamed to Oliver angrily, thinking that he did it on purpose. But he seemed as surprised as us. “No!” he shook his head, raising his hands like I was going to beat him. “The map didn't tell anything about anything like this”. “Okay, let's go”, Max was annoyed and wanted to make it out as soon as possible. “Do you think there might be… other traps?” - I whispered to him, a bit worried. “Maybe”, he shrugged. “Don't worry sis, I'm sure none of them are really harmful”. Suddenly we saw that Oliver stopped, looking at the next turn thoughtfully. “Odd… I don't remember this turn”, he muttered. “WHAT?!” we both stared at him angrily. “You told us you know the way!!” “Don't worry guys”, he calmed us down, “It's just a turn, not a crossroad. I remember, the next time we need to turn left. No need to worry”. So we continued going. But then I suddenly saw something on the ground… “Hey!!” I stopped to call the boys. “What is it Ruth?” Max turned around. I picked up the thing and showed it to him. It was my cap. “I- I've dropped it a while ago and didn't notice”, I muttered. “We- we're…” Max turned back at Oliver, who seemed pretty much confused, and barked: “We're going in circles!!” Oliver stepped back, but suddenly fell. The ground shook, and water rained down on him. We watched him, not feeling sorry at all. Max spoke, and his voice sounded very sarcastic, “Are you completely sure you know the way?”

Daily 5: Happy World Book Day! Today we'll be writing reviews and offering book recommendations to our fellow SWCers in the comments! Connect with other passionate readers and share the ups and downs of recent books you've read, or maybe discover a new love of reading you didn't realize you had? Have fun celebrating World Book Day!

For this daily I chose some sort of underrated books I like. There aren’t very long, but definitely worth reading! Without further ago her are my reviews:
Paul Gallico - “Jennie”
This book is about a boy named Peter who has turned into a cat. He has to face hard life in the streets, but with his new friend - Jennie, another stray who teaches him how to be a proper cat - he goes on some adventures, uncovering Jennie’s hard relationship with humans. Don’t worry, in the end Peter becomes a boy again - oops, spoiler spoiler The book is really kind and touching, I love it.
Michael Morpurgo - “The Last Wolf”
Intriguing title, isn’t it? The story follows a path of a Scottish orphan boy who lives in a hard historical period for his country. He has to survive alone, hiding from the English solders who are after rebels. Once he finds a wolf cub - his mother was killed by the solders as “the last Scottish wolf”. So the main character and the REAL last wolf of Scotland live together - until the boy finds out about a ship going to the land of freedom, America… Morpurgo’s writing style is really unique, and the plot is catching and realistic. Highly recommend
Maia Wojciechowska - “Shadow of a Bull”
Hope I spelled the author’s name right, it was quite a challenge Manolo is the only son of a famous torero, and the whole town literally can’t wait when he will turn 12 and will become as great as his dead father. But no one wonders if the boy himself wants such a destiny. Every Spanish boy wants to be famous by fighting bulls, no? But Manolo has a dream of healing wounds, not killing bulls. Finally the day of arena comes… will he succeed? The book is really cool, I enjoyed it

Part 2: Character moodboard
165 words

Moodboard: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1286417799
Explanation: Blue evening sky and moon is just her aesthetic. Swings - she lives to be free, and besides loves swings like a kid! Anytime she sees swings she would take a ride. She loves the feeling of free flight and fall. Blueberry accessory - cute, aesthetic and blue, one of the little things she likes. Starry blue skirt is one of her favourite clothes (she wears it with white shirt sometimes). Brown eyes and hair - this is a fancy hairstyle version, normally she wears a plait so her hair wouldn’t get dirty when she’s working with clay. Starry sky silhouette - she loves stargazing, pottery wheel - she pays lots of attention to it. Her job is her passion. Early evening with a friend out in nature is something she eagerly to have, but life’s been busy lately. She has journal just like that, maybe a bit better-looking. She is observant - “A thinker”. And she secretly struggles with trust issues and loneliness - “If I disappear will you look for me?”

Daily 3: Today is World Wildlife Day! To celebrate, center your daily around wildlife. Maybe your characters tour through the Amazon rainforest and encounter unknown creatures or turn into animals themselves and have to spend the day living alongside other critters. Whatever you decide to do, run wild! (Get it? ;D) Write 350 words for 400 points, earn an extra 100 for sharing.

I did not ask for this, nor did I expect what was to come - but it happened, and now I’m sitting on a wet stone in a wet forest at night. Stupid tribe leader. Couldn’t he understand that I did not know about their stupid tradition when I asked to be a member of the tribe?! No, he had to tell everyone that “Truro has decided to join the Listeners tribe!” and give all needed orders to his men before I actually realised WHAT did I ask for. He even wished me to have a great time with that wide happy smile when they led me into the forest deep at twilight!!! Like, how was I supposed to know about their ceremony - the new member spends one night in the woods, staying awake and completely alone.
Listeners tribe was a group of people I met when my village was burned down by the enemy. I was the only survivor. The leader, Riawe, unofficially adopted me, but I wasn’t a real member of the tribe until now. I mean, I’ll become a member in the sunrise. That’s what they told me.
But it’s midnight now, and I am cold, tired, lonely and… scared. I have never been in a night forest alone before - except for the night when my village was gone in the flames. I can’t remember a worse experience.
The Listeners are people of the forest. They understand every single sign and sound. They hear everything. They see everything. They are a part of nature, and they live in harmony with it.
A sudden screech of a night bird made me jump up and forget my name for a second. The cold wind blew in the tree tops, making the branches clash and clap in the dark. The shadows, like smoke, crawled out of every hole. Quiet cracking in the forest deep made me remember the snapping of fire.
But the stars above were cold, so cold, glowing with still distant light unlike fire, and slowly the memories form the backyard of my mind started to fade, letting me see the beauty of the nighttime woods.
I felt soft moss on the ground that gently filled every crack in the stone. I touched the warm and rough bark of the tree that was reaching for the deep dark sky. I saw a patch of tiny white flowers that softly reflected starlight. I heard a light run of a small creature, probably a mouse. Owl on the top of the tree cried once more and flew off - for a moment I saw its dark silhouette in the starry sky above. Suddenly I noticed two glowing spots in the forest dark, they were watching me for a second - and the fox continued his hunt.
Then I saw the sky turned red. For a moment I held my breath, but then I laughed. It was not fire. It was sunrise.
I stood up and stretched, reaching for the new sky.
I am a Listener now.
