Overwold map for an RPG (Feedback welcome!)

So this is actually for a scratch project but I felt it would fit better here. I've created a map of my game world, complete with cities castles and bandit camps.

Thoughts?
(You might want to download the image and zoom in to get a better look, as this is 16x16 tiles )

Not bad! There's not too much going on, but at the same time the map isn't empty. I like what I see.

Yeah, the way i made it was to use a tile based map editor (Tiled), and because of that, I'm kinda limited as to how much stuff I can cram into each tile I may just edit it in photoshop later on to give it a little more variety and polish.

Thanks for the feedback!

It isn't very interesting… and it looks like it came straight out of an RPG maker's default tile sheets. If the character's supposed to walk through it and be like the size of a castle, then it's pretty small for an overworld map. However if the character is smaller than that, then it'd be too sparse and plain between the points. Either way, it's far too squished into a small space.

I think it's supposed to be like a map that you pul up to see where you are going or something, like the minimap in terraria.

It's a map of the entire continent, each castle, outpost, cave, and forest is a location ingame, this is just the map that you use to move between them. Think the map from Super Mario World.

Although I did get the tilesheet from opengameart, so you have me there.

I am trying to go for a pretty generic RPG, I just want to see if it's possible to make a polished, vanilla RPG in scratch.
