Save space
A. In the case of a long, complicated script, this would shorten it and allow more room for the scratcher to focus on the present coding task.

Yes, I don't support this topic.
Scratch Jr has these horizontal blocks because it's easier for kids.
Most text based programming languages (C, C++, Lua, Python etc.) are vertical, just like current Scratch.
It woul be a terrible idea to make it so you can do it horizontally.

Also, ScratchJR's interface is optimised for phones and its completely different layout with a short code area. Also, some blocks have 2 or even 3 arguments, how would they be presented? What about reporters and booleans, how do you insert them?

Found a website for ScratchJR Blocks (They are all left-right). Some of the blocks seem too easy and kiddy to me, but it would be cool to have some of them.
