Acknowledge other history months aside from Black History Month

Personally, I don't think it was a good idea for the Scratch Team to make announcements on black history month or pride month since it makes people concerned/annoyed that other awareness months don't get featured. Sometimes the most inclusive thing to do is to not do announcements for anything.
I agree. Even if every heritage month there is was given the same amount of acknowledgement by the ST, as a straight white male, I would still feel left out in those regards!

Even if this was implemented, the ST would probably call it “Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month” to seem woke which would make me die of cringe
that is a very strange thing to get mad about. also “woke” what i don't understand this new phrase
“Woke” means alert to social issues. Corporations like Google and Disney have used the term latinx or latin@ in the past to seem woke, because apparently they're more “gender-inclusive” when in reality it's redundant because if one knew anything about the Spanish language and its grammar, they'd know the term “latinos” is already gender-inclusive. Also, latinxs can't really be pronounced in Spanish, and don't even get me started on “latin@s.” This is because these are terms created by Americans trying to be woke. Go to Mexico and call someone latinx - I'll assure you they'll look at you funny.

Anyways that's enough, I don't wanna derail the topic lol

The term “Latinx” is problematic to begin with too, if the ST used the term Latinx I can see them getting backlash (tldr is that the term was coined by non Latinos rather than actual Latino people, and the actual gender neutral form of Latino/Latina in the Spanish language is Latine)

I will say that historical Black people have been more marginalized in America that Hispanic or Asian people.

scratchers on the forums from 10-500 posts have at most, a 7 short sentence span for replies. if you cant keep your posts in this range, then dont act suprised when someone asks for simplified version

I'm gonna run under the assumption that the way the thread is titled is unintentional bad wording instead of a means to be deceptive about the true nature of the suggestion - which is to have the Scratch Team post more forum threads and do less project/studio features, as the ST has done stuff for some of the other months mentioned.

Cat-out-of-the-bag: We sometimes use threads for certain holidays/events after finding that users with less than ideal values were harassing projects and studios we feature for that holiday/event. Using a thread promoting project/studio creation around that topic deflects that harassment. Not all threads are for this purpose, but overall, a forum post shouldn't be thought of as more superior than a project/studio feature. It isn't, especially for a creative community where there is greater value is presenting stuff made by others.

I think being dismissive of the importance of mathematics has a lot of negative implications for a website like Scratch. Maybe I was wrong about Pi day not being one of those cases. Yikes.
