There's an ambiguity with this idea:
1. Does it report true once a broadcast is received?
2. Does it report true if the broadcast was ever received?
And a workaround:
when I receive {message}
set received? = 1
…
if <(received? = 1)>
…

For that, I don't support. Sorry.

and the sticky explains it's already been suggested many times but is impossible due to technical reasons

Variable=1 would be a much simpler workaround since there is no huge list of messages - only the number “18” in the variable.
