I got a black screen from Edge again (no aero bar or cursor this time). I was able access the lock screen by pressing Win+Ctrl+Shift+B and just restarted from there since I didn't have anything important open and there were still somethings that weren't working like the blur effect on the login screen and (I also got a failed to project error telling me to reinstall the driver, but that was probably just because I tried a bunch of keyboard shortcuts on the black screen including Win+P) I guess I'll just have to stay away from Edge and deal with low FPS Scratch projects on Firefox.

That is true, imo, but at least they wouldn't have the issues they have, and it's still a fairly decent browser.(#2163)Vivaldi is bloated in terms of features. Just heard that the end of life date for Windows 10 is 2025. My PC is powerful (can't recall the specs rn but made within the last 3 or so years) but I remember last time I ran an 11 compat check it flagged something as being incompatible with 11.
Not to mention that I'm still consistently hearing about major problems with 11 and I genuinely do not see any benefits to upgrading considering they're just doing the thing of adding a few token graphic redesigns to pretend it's brand new. Literally everything I have to run is still fully compatible and functional with 10 but a lot of it still isn't rated for 11.
Expertly done, Microsoft. Expertly freaking done. You've given your users the choice to either deal with an unsupported OS (which will be open season for hackers, ransomware creators, etc. as is what happened when you stopped bothering with IE6 once you had your monopoly) or upgrade to your less than stellar replacement for a fee that will probably be in the several hundreds of dollars.
If Linux had the same program support as Windows with less platform fragmentation I would be there yesterday.

I heard from my teachers that it automatically updated them to Windows 11. I'm obviously on my own personal computer but is Microsoft gonna auto update me?

Don't think so, some apps won't work with Windows 11??

Microsoft is preparing a new email client for Windows 11!
In the latest Windows 11 update, Microsoft is going to give a new look to its classic Outlook email app and make it more user friendly and feature rich like Google Gmail email app.

Sidebar reminds me of replit and looks nice but kids and beginners of Scratch wouldn't understand it easily, the buttons above the project canvas look a bit odd, and the buttons above the sprite list should be a bit more like the ones in Scratch right now Since this is a Windows 11 topic I thought this would be the perfect place to post this here:

i dont think it auto updates, i did see an upgrade popup on one of my teacher's laptops but it wasn't needed or anything I heard from my teachers that it automatically updated them to Windows 11. I'm obviously on my own personal computer but is Microsoft gonna auto update me?

Please don't bring that up here, you already have two suggestions for that. (Also, no support beacuse then users will complain that the ST didn't make custom themes for their operating system and it means the ST will have to maintain more versions of the editor.) Since this is a Windows 11 topic I thought this would be the perfect place to post this here:

btw, I haven't had any issue with Windows 11. I don't use it on my main computer but it runs just fine and doesn't crash or anything.
Somehow Windows is actually stable. It doesn't brick itself because of a random freeze or force shutoff or power outage or whatever. Linux manages to freeze after update (hey are windows updates even that bad in the first place?) and needs to be force powered off, which bricks the entire OS for some reason.

(#2178)Same here. I'm not sure why everyone thinks Windows 11 is so bad; it works perfectly for me and has never crashed or lagged, even during updates.

Help improve the Advanced Topics (Really!)
Before you create a topic:
Always search for duplicates or other similar topics before making an umbrella topic, e.g., “The Mac Topic”.
- Is it about something you are planning on making but haven't made yet? If so, please wait to post until you have created a working prototype. This is a key factor to keeping the ATs as clean as possible.
- The ATs aren't technical support. It is perfectly valid to ask questions about things related to programming, but not issues with external websites, apps, or devices. Most sites have their own support system; try asking there!
- Is it related to something you are making in Scratch? (This includes OSes and other Scratch projects) If so, please post in Collaboration, Show and Tell, or another similar forum.
- Is your topic questionably “advanced”? Try browsing the other forums to see if your topic fits better in one of those.
- Issues with Scratch itself should be put in Bugs and Glitches.
