why is putting the update notification in the website better than in the browser? what if someone doesn't have that tab open or is using a different new tab page?

Great idea! I'll try and implement it, so hopefully it will be in v3.0.3.

Edit: done.

I don't really want to force updates on the users, but feel free to make a PR if you want to.

Sorry, but the builds for version 3.0.3 are failing. I'll try my best to fix it.

Okay, the builds seem to be, well, building. That's good– I was kind of worried.

Github's servers don't always work with uploading assets.

I don't think it was that. It was a npm install issue.

Sacrificing usability just to be different?

Ninetails is usable, at least in my opinion. Feel free to use any browser you want.

Why would talking about the design of Ninetails be off-topic in the Ninetails topic?

Even if the standard design has major problems? That isn't the case here, but it could be.

I'd agree with MagicCrayon here - all your users have prob used some other browser before (cuz I think no computer has got Ninetails preinstalled), and because literally all PC browser have the button for closing a tab on the tab AFAIK, they are also prob used to this design. For me, it would take me like 5 minutes or even more to figure out how to close a tab, and that doesn't make a good first impression of Ninetails (which matters if you want someone to use it). Also, this has got the additional bonus of being able to close tabs even while they're not active (if you haven't got open a bunch of them like I do )

Honestly, Ninetails was originally not “for the users”; it was just a side project for me to learn more and test my skills. I'm pretty sure that no one will actually use it: browsers like Chrome or Firefox work a lot better and have a lot more features.

Contributors aren't necessary for making something though.
