Block Library thread

I'm too busy to work on or maintain a new block library, I'm afraid! However I'm happy to help out here and there! If you want the source files for the blocks.scratchr.org website, let me know

Are you going to add my Block Importer to the list of different scratch mods/versions that the block library supports? You probably know about it. It can create and import block files. These files contain the blockspec and source code more, and are permanantly saved to your copy of scratch (if you have a block importer patch installed) . Sparks and I experimented with uploading blocks via an upload button from the Block Importer to the website, it seemed to work pretty well. There is no updated version but one will probably be available next week, I guess.

Yeah, I know about it. I just never used it so I forgot about it

I do, in fact, have my own site; it's here.
I'm also working on a thing called Fetch. Look at it here!

Alright. I'm going to rewrite it to be less glitchy and messy. btw you seem short of librarians, according to the librarians list. What is required of a librarian? I'm considering volunteering as a block library if it's not too much work. Are you accepting new librarians? btw I know squeak like the back of my hand, if that helps.

Is that working now? Awesome! Last I knew of it I think it wasn't working properly yet and the project kinda got forgotten.

Well, I could send the form and you received it, right? But the block wasn't uploaded as a file. I think that's sort of how it went.

Can't wait for the new version!
There is an updated version of the website here - it has a lot of glitches and areas that need lots of improvement, I know, but I'm working as fast as I can. I've got finals next week, so after that I should have more time to work on it
Anyway, let me know what you think of the website.

bump…
Somebody should make a new logo…we could make it a contest like the old library used to have, if you want…
Did anybody try the website yet?

Website Updates!!!
Finals are over now, so I will try to release updates more frequently over the next week or so.

Updates:
  • Re-did stylesheet (I really hated the old one)
Reorganized home page and browse pages
Creating an account should now work (please test)
Lots of security upgrades - let me know if you find any holes, I may have missed a few things…
Ability to approve blocks - unapproved blocks won't show up for non-administrators, and for admins, a button shows up allowing them to approve it.
I think I will be the lone administrator until the site is stable, then I will probably get a few others (I believe some people have already offered in this thread…)
Things I'm still working on adding (coming soon):
  • Support for programs other than Scratch 2.0 (Panther and BYOB would probably work, but they still need some polishing)
Better help pages telling users how to upload/download blocks for different mods - if anybody wants to help with this part, let me know!
Marking blocks as spam - button is there, but doesn't do anything yet.
Well, I think that covers everything…as always, test it out and let me know what you think!
