Version 3.0. is known for not bringing many new features, but this was due to the hurry to build a system in HTML5, as Flash was going to end (RiP btw), but now that everything is done, I think it is a great time to do a minor update, and in the meantime take a look at the forums to see what to implement, including new blocks and features.

If Scratch 3.0 was only made to stop using Flash, then 1.) why did development start before Flash was announced to end and 2.) why did they bother creating a whole new interface from scratch?
Also, this suggestion is very vague. What do you mean by just “make 3.1”? Isn't that exactly like a Scratch 4.0 suggestion, or something like “update the website”?

All suggestions are unnecessary. If a suggestion is necessary then it's a bug report.

ST will decide what to add. The point is to be vague, it is only to suggest that they work on a new version.

what do you think the devs are doing? this is what the ST is already doing. the ST is already working on fixing bugs and adding features. they don't need us to tell them to do that.

I guess I wouldn't call this suggestion entirely pointless… I think what they're trying to get at is that Scratch 3.0 didn't have many new features, and a “Scratch 3.1” to add a few “low hanging fruit” features that people have been wanting for a while would be a nice way to satisfy users.

/hj is the worst tone indicator. It's confusing and ambiguous. I hate it. The point of tone indicators is to indicate tone, or the way that a piece of text should be read, but what does “half joking” mean? Do you just wake up in the morning and think “wow, I really have something I want to talk about seriously but also kinda not, IDK you decide.” It's useless. I hate it. It just provokes a deep rooted anger within me whenever I see it. People just comment /hj as if it makes any sense. It doesn't. Oh wow, it's a tone indicator that's has a relative meaning, how useful, I'll use it in every comment I post. NO. STOP IT. You're a tone indicator, you have only one job, and yet you sit there doing nothing apart angering me.

[slightly offtopic]I think that we'd still be in a version of 2.x if it weren't for adobe being greedy and shutting down flash because it doesn't give them money.[/slightly offtopic]Even as someone who really likes Flash games, that's not what happened at all.
3.0 isn't really too different from 2.0Disagree. Maybe it isn't in terms of available blocks, but a lot of miscellaneous things got huge overhauls.

I think that we'd still be in a version of 2.x if it weren't for adobe being greedy and shutting down flash because it doesn't give them money.Scratch 3.0's development started before flash was even announced to be shutting down, so I'd think we'd be stuck with 3.0 either way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well, we're always working to improve Scratch. I'm not sure what the current development priorities are, or our exact versioning scheme, but I think focusing on the .1 is perhaps not the point. If the suggestion comes down to asking us to add more features, that's hugely dependent on what resources we have and the direction we want to go with Scratch.
