On forums, I usually cannot reply to posts by the scratch team. I am not muted or banned, so why does this happen?
My browser / operating system: Windows 8.1, Chrome 88.0.4324.150, No Flash version detected

I'm was wondering about that too. I think they don't want people to respond?

switch costume to [sloths! (of course) v]
play sound [80s music v]
change pen color by (the color blue)

As far as I know, mutes do not affect your ability to use the forums.
If you cannot reply to a topic, it is because the topic is closed, which is a feature of almost all forum software and is not a bug.
If you want to know why the Scratch Team closes their announcements, your topic would probably be more appropriate for Questions about Scratch.
