3.0 is FINE, almost. (suggestions)
As far as I have seen, the main complaints I have seen about scratch 3.0 are as follows:
The scratch team has already said they may add a button to switch stage sides, so that is fixed.
As for the blocks being to big, I agree; scratch team has said they need to be bigger for mobile, which I understand, but they should probably shrink them when it detects that its not on a mobile device.
The next three are completely arbitrary, contradictory, and childish. We get it, you don't like revamped graphics, too bad.
As for the lag, I haven't seen much, except for ONE PART that I guess isn't technically lag, but maybe mistaken for it. The problem: scratch 3.0 autosaves too much. When it autosaves, the entire screen freezes until the autosave finishes, and there is no big indicator that fills the screen like in 2.0. So, I suggest re-adding an indicator and having it autosave less often. That would completely fix all the “lag” (that at least I'm experiencing).
Thanks!
Ps. also update the in-text blocks for the forums to 3.0, please.
- The stage is on the right grrrrr!
The blocks are too big grrrr!
The blocks look too professional and hard to use!
The blocks look too unprofessional and for kids!
I don't like the looks!
Its lagging.

I'm fine with the stage being on the right again, but the main problem I have is that they made some useless features (like being able to scroll up and down when editting a function, absolute madness), they made it load projects more slowly (or is that just because of the pressure on the servers?) and they made it clunky to use. When scrolling through the blocks, they have larger padding and larger distances between them. For small projects like the ‘spinning cat’ advert on the Scratch Twitter page, this is fine, but when you have to find one function out of 20 in a Chess simulator, it's really difficult and time-consuming. And then, once you do, you have to find the function's location yourself, since defining it no longer works. Also, some projects have all of the blocks shifted over, and it's all completely crazy and backwards and difficult and while they may improve it later, for now, I'm just going to use Scratch mostly offline, on the 2.0 editor. Although HTML5 is better than Flash and I don't want to be a luddite, I also don't want to use this crazily backwards system that loads more slowly.

The scratch team has said that this is for mobile users. In fact, it appears that a lot of the clunkiness has been “for mobile users”; I'm fairly sure that many of the problems could be avoided by setting up a system where the blocks are smaller, less padding, etc. for non-mobile users. As for things like defining functions no longer working, I'm sure that that is just a bug/error and will be fixed. I hope?

If they just changed 2.0 out of flash, that would literally make scratch a lot better. 3.0… is a major downgrade for tons and tons of reasons…

the 3.0 editor is literally built for toddlers on ipads. I would like to see a setting for desktop and laptop users that makes the GUI smaller and the option to have the project player on the left would also be nice. Probably would never happen though. That's how Scratch works!

Not really possible… unless you rebuild the entire thing which would make it probably turn out like 3.0. If they just changed 2.0 out of flash, that would literally make scratch a lot better. 3.0… is a major downgrade for tons and tons of reasons…

Actually, I prefer the look of Scratch 3.0 to Scratch 2.0 because Scratch 3.0 looks more modern. I think that there isn't any point moving the stage because Scratch 3.0 was released 363 days ago. If Scratch 3.0 is lagging, try it on a different browser.
True. The Scratch Blocks should be updated to 3.0, I was just about to suggest that myself.
