I have a question about being front paged.

What does it mean when to be front paged? I'm really confused and I really want to know what it means.

“Front paged” means that out of many projects nominated by the community, the Scratch Team believes yours to be an example of Scratch's best, and they will place it in the Featured Projects section on the front page. When this happens, you are sure to get lots of views, loves, favorites, comments, and an overwhelming number of notifications. You'll probably also see a spike in followers.

Being on the front page is also possible if your project gets curated by the current curator, or if it is heavily loved or remixed.

I have a question about being front paged.

There are different sections of the front page, and each section works a little differently.

Featured Projects: The Scratch Team manually chooses particular projects to be added to this section. They frequently get ideas from the “Propose Projects to be Featured” studio. However, not all projects in that studio get featured, and not all featured projects come from that studio.

Featured Studios: The Scratch Team manually chooses particular studios to be added to this section. They frequently get ideas from the “Propose Studios to be Featured” forum topic.

Projects Curated by _____: The Scratch Team has selected a certain Scratcher, known as an FPC (front-page curator) to select projects to get put on the front page.

Scratch Design Studio: These are random projects that have been designed for the Scratch Design Studio, a studio run by the Scratch Team.

Projects by Scratchers I'm Following: If someone you're following makes a project, the project will be displayed here.

Projects Loved by Scratchers I'm Following: If someone you're following loves a project, the project will be displayed here.

Projects in Studios I'm Following: Projects added to a studio that you are following will be displayed here.

What the Community is Remixing: These projects were remixed a lot within the past week. It is algorithm-based, so the Scratch Team does not manually select projects to be put in this category. The exact algorithm is unknown, but generally a project should be remixed around 15 times within a week or so.

What the Community is Loving: These projects were loved a lot within the past week. It is also algorithm-based. The exact algorithm is unknown, but generally a project should be loved around 100 times within a week or so.

I hope this helps!

This is my forum signature! On a forum post, it is okay for Scratchers to advertise in their forum signature. The signature is the stuff that shows up below the horizontal line on the post. It will show up on every post I make.

I was a Scratch Team member from May 10th 2019 to October 29th 2021.
