So, could you help me find a way to time travel to the past that works for real? Not a fake one.
I've heard if you go faster than light, you would go back in time.
oops thats how to go to the future (i think).
You are talking about velocity time dilation. Really, you don't travel through time with it. Time is entirely relative. It can go faster and slower depending on a couple of different factors, velocity and gravity. Both of those slow down time. If you could approach the speed of light (thus causing extreme velocity time dilation), you would slow down time a huge amount for you, but time elsewhere would not change. If you went at the speed of light while holding a stopwatch, and timed a trip to the Andromeda Galaxy and back, five million years would have passed, but for you, since time would be slowed down, it would only take about a day according to your stopwatch.
It is absolutely impossible for any object whether of matter or energy to go any faster than the speed of light, and humans maximum speed ability is far less than that.
Dr. Russel Humphreys has written a great book that explains a lot about time dilation, black holes, relativity, and other interesting subjects called Starlight and Time.
Yep, but that wouldn't be very good because instead of fixing problems you'd have arrived to see an Earth where nobody you knew is still alive and it would be completely different (or completely be destroyed if we've decided to not do anything about climate change at all) and evolution will have continued further. It would be pretty bad
Yeah, but the same physics that allow for speeding up clocks allows for clocks going in reverse. Dr. Humphrey's shows in his book how time past the event horizon in a black hole could in fact be going in the opposite direction. Modern science allows for this, but does not prove it.

Way to go back in time that really works

Okay, after doing some research, I have found some information for you.

Theoretically, according to Einstein's General Theory of Relativity (e = mc² (or Energy = (Mass x The Speed of Light)²)), travelling into the past is only possible if an object can travel at speeds greater than that of light. Sadly, his theory also states that no object that can travel at speeds lower than that of light can accelerate beyond the speed of light. In other words, because you aren't travelling at or beyond the speed of light right now, you will never be able to.

On the bright side, the General Theory of Relativity does allow for a hypothetical (that is, completely imagined) particle, know as a “tachyon”. Tachyons would be able to travel beyond the speed of light, because they would be always travelling beyond the speed of light, no matter what.

Now I hear you asking “Great! But how do these ”tachyons" relate to me travelling back in time?" Well, lets say that a device existed that could scan your entire body, down to the very last electron. Also, you would need a device that could destroy everything that makes up your body on a subatomic level. Lastly, tachyons would need to be discovered, and you would also need to have a way of slightly altering their trajectories. If all of that technology existed, then you would need to perform the following:

You would need to condense a lot of tachyons on one location, that would be far enough away so that the tachyons could make the trip to 2015, But they would also need to be close to a renowned science lab, which specializes in quantum mechanical phenomena. Furthermore, this “burst” would need to contain a message of some sort, detailing that you are from this time, and to build a machine that can absorb tachyon streams, and also could decipher them allowing you to get there.

Here's how it would work: you would have your body scanned on the subatomic level, and then you would alter the trajectories of passing tachyons toward the device in the past that was built in the past. The trajectory of this stream of tachyons would need to be altered in such a way that it encodes your “body data”. After that, the machine that destroys things on the subatomic level will destroy the present “you”.

Next, you would need the past machine to pick up the subatomic tachyon data, and “re-materialize” you in that time.

So yes, with the discovery of tachyons, backwards time travel would be possible. However, it would be EXTREMELY expensive, and difficult.

And it is also very possible that there could be psychological problems, “soul transfer” problems, and a lot of temporal paradoxes along the way.

I sincerely hope that this helped,
Superben100.

Also probably impossible.
If it is. Is there a spell that actually works for me to go back in time?

Actually, going back in time is pretty simple. All you really need is an old phone, some scrap metal, a banana, 100 spoons and a copy of the newspaper on the day you want to go to: The Times, of course

And all the world over, each nation's the same,
They've simply no notion of playing the game.

And they practice beforehand, which ruins the fun!

I do not know of any “spells” that can allow for that.

Furthermore, the only problem with travelling back in time would be temporal paradoxes.

Well, certain stars are light years from us. If you watch them, you're actually watching how they were years ago. If you're watching a star far three light years for example, it might even explode in this moment and you'll only know in three years. So going far in the space it's kinda like time travelling from our point of view though and I don't think this was what you were looking for.

Along those lines, my almost-OC Plutonia, 65 million years after the trauma (she caused a mass extinction 65 million years ago with a failed take-off), she is in another galaxy (she floats around in space) and wants to use her SuperSonic camera to take a picture of Earth and how it developed since the trauma she was responsible for causing. All she sees though, are the dinosaurs, then a few seconds later, a 65-million-year-younger her taking off and causing a massive explosion that blocked out sunlight for days.

This was because of how fast light travels.

IMPORTANT: do not stalk me. just because im active somewhere doesnt mean that you should stalk me to that place. please, its VERY annoying.

So the way I see it, modern science says that backwards time travel is impossible. Here's why:

Picture you and time as a truck and an infinitely long train: time is the train, and is travelling at, say, 50 mph. When your truck is standing still, your speed is, of course, 0 mph. When your truck stands still, the train passes it by. The train cars keep coming and coming. When you begin to accelerate to a speed that is near 50 mph, say, 49 mph, the train cars appear to you as coming by slowly, rather than incredibly quickly, as they do to everything else.

If you were to reach 50 mph, or, the exact speed at which time travels (which is the speed of light), time would appear to stand still. When you began to accelerate at a speed greater than that of light, say, 51 mph, time would appear to slowly travel backwards. By the time you would reach 3,600,000 mph, you would be travelling back in time at a speed of 1 day per second.

However, there's a catch. In order to reach the speed of light, you would require an infinite amount of energy, and according to the pesky laws of thermodynamics, among other things, you could not obtain an infinite amount of energy, according to modern science.

Thanks for reading,
Superben100

Well Sonic could beat Mario in a race along with Rainbow Dash, a Cheetah, Dash, and the Flash, but a beam of light can outsmart a speedster. So it wouldn't help.

No, it has to be The Times.
Yeah, it totally works, I found this message in a few days but I came back to make it look like it's not a late reply.

Well, the same method works, so to get back you use today's newspaper.
