gonna do some boss tips too

King Slime
Pretty easy, just don't get hit and use a piercing weapon (e.g. space gun, jester arrows).
Equipment recommendations:
- Decent armour: King Slime hits surprisingly hard
- Water Bolt is amazing if you can get it
- Grenades clear out the small slimes really well
- If you're melee, use a boomerang: King Slime's attack is pretty high considering how easy he's usually considered
- Minishark + meteor shot's pretty dang good
- Double jump or grappling hook is basically a necessity
- 100 HP is doable in normal mode, but I'd say try for 160-200
- As much HP and defense as possible in expert

-Making an enclosed box with a rope that runs from ground to ceiling and you hanging 30 blocks above ground but 10 blocks away from ceiling and spamming a magic weapon makes you unkillable, even in expert. Switch to a boomerang or long range yo-yo when mana hits 0.
-A pit of lava makes the fight super easy, removing the need for weapons. If farming for the slimy saddle and you have mechanic, use dart traps or even boulder traps.
-Any arena where you don’t have to get too far away is best. On desktop/1.3 console he can teleport.

Expert mode makes him drop the Royal Gel, which isn't particularly useful but can be during later Slime Rain events.
in normal mode, make a long rope that goes high in the sky so King Slime can't hurt you! Also with this strategy use an enchanted boomerang. They aren't too hard to get and pirece! They can be found early-game inside giant trees.

Eye of Cthulhu
I actually consider this easier than King Slime in normal mode. Predictable pattern and doesn't hit particularly hard.
Equipment:
- Normal mode any silver or higher bow will beat it with little problems: just have a healthy supply of flaming / frostburn arrows
- Snowball cannon is great for clearing out minis
- Double jump is especially helpful in second phase
- Space gun obliterates this boss, even on expert it's very viable
- This boss is pretty easy to do on 100 HP in normal, expert should have 200-300

-If you time your throws well, grenades can not only eat away at the boss’s health but can clear away some servents.

Expert drop is Shield of Cthulhu, which gives you +2 defense and a dash ability: very helpful in pre-hardmode and even through some of hardmode
build a long platform arena that has about 3 spaces between each row and about 7-9 rows (more length in expert because of dashes). Get an Enchanted Boomerang. Expert: You're going to need grenades for the end. Get as much defence and armor as possible.

Eater of Worlds
Piercing weapons rip through this boss: just don't break off the middle!
Equipment:
- Decent armour is really helpful for this fight: the head hurts and you often have to tank a hit from the body
- Space gun is great!
- Grenades can decimate this boss in just a few seconds
- Jester's arrows are pretty dang good
- Boomerangs can be thrown in such a way that they hit a bunch of segemnts
- At least 200 HP is recommended

-Melee is best choice here. It can damage multiple segments in one swing.

The expert drop is the Worm Scarf, which is factually the best expert drop in the game. Seriously. 17% damage reduction.
Enchanted Boomerang works great. Also if you get the Trident that's great (Ocean chests)! Build an arena that has parts out of reach.
Brain of Cthulhu
Crowd control and high knockback are essentials for this fight.
Equipment:
- DOUBLE JUMP!
- Stuff like water bolt or space gun is great for first phase
- Tendon bow is a good ranger weapon for this fight
- Rotted Fork is easy to get since you're smashing hearts anyway, and its strong knockback keeps second form at bay
- Again, have at least 200 HP

-Pairing meteor armour and space gun mows this boss down. If you can quickly change direction you can obliterate him in under a minute.

Expert mode drop sucks. Never use the Brain of Confusion.
Get Trident to knockback the creepers and second phase. Build an arena out of platforms, that woyld help a lot. Also get great armor. Try to get 15+ defense.
Skeletron
Best thing is a consistent, preferably free damage source against the head.
Equipment:
- Double jump is basically a necessity, and in Expert Mode the shield of cthulhu's dash is really helpful
- space gun water bolt xd
- A good bow!
- If possible the Bee's Knees and Beenades are great
- Enchanted Sword's pretty dang good
- From here on out you probably want max HP, or pretty close to it

-Sharanga is a good weapon, even without the cursed inferno debuff doing anything.

Expert drop is Bone Glove which is a good choice for a throwing build
Use demon bow or enchanted boomerang. Break his hands first. In normal mode, his hands are the only REAL problem. His Expert drop is the bone glove, using bones for ammo.
Queen Bee
Can be tricky if not prepared, but all you really need is a good arena.
Equipment:
- You know what weapons I'm going to say. You know.
- Minishark + meteor shot is good since it pierces through the bees
- Enchanted sword is good because the swing keeps the bees away and the projectile can hit the boss
- Speed increasing items like hermes boots are really useful
- I'd go for at least shadow armour

-If your patient, the star cannon mows down the boss. 200 should suffice.

Expert drop is the Hive Pack, which is a necessity for any bee build (i.e. if you're using Bee's Knees, Bee Keeper, Bee Gun or Beenades).
If you have a crazy minion, make sure you don't accidently summon the boss unprepared. I suggest you get the best pre-hardmode weapons accessable. Also speed is key.

Wall of Flesh
You really need a big hell bridge for this one.
Equipment:
- A good supply of beenades (50-100) utterly rips through this boss
- Bee's knees is a great bow
-
- What? First I say it, then I expect you to say it for me, now I expect you to know when to say it as well
- Any ranged melee weapon is pretty good, as long as it's not the wooden boomerang
- Summoners use Bee, Rangers use Necro, Warriors use Molten and Mages use either Jungle or Meteor: simple as that
- You should definitely have max HP by now, otherwise you'll have a rough time in hardmode

-Bombs or even dynamite is great. Make sure to use Dungeon brick or you will have the underworld looking like North Korea’s missile landed there XD

Alright, here we go. Get the minishark and meteorite bullets to kill him with ease. Just run, run, and run. Also try to dodge lasers. Hit one of the eyes because the eyes have no defense.

Destroyer
Generally considered the easiest Hardmode boss, a good piercing weapon makes fairly quick work of this one
Equipment:
- At least Mythril / Orichalchum armour: Adamantite or Titanium is preferred
- At the VERY least angel / demon wings, but leaf wings are pretty easy to get
- Unfortunately, it's time to finally retire the water bolt
- Magical harp is really good piercing damage
- Stormbow + holy arrows.
- Spider staff is useful to have
Expert drops a part of the mechanical cart.
Get the Ice Sickle, build a big box, add a tiny hole with honey, summon, defeat, repeat.

The Twins
Personally, I find this easier than Destroyer, but that's just me.
Equipment:
- Once again, at least middle-tier hardmode ore
- Try for leaf wings!
- Stormbow and holy arrows once again…
- Megashark is a really good weapon
- Spider staff is again helpful
Expert drops another part of the mechanical cart.
et the light discs or mythril/adamitite repeater.
Skeletron Prime
Definitely the hardest of the mech bosses.
Equipment:
- Adamantite or titanium.
- Definitely leaf wings: they're really helpful.
- DSBHA
- Megashark?
- Spider staff, or if possible optic staff
Expert mode drops the last piece of the mech cart, which is pretty dang fast.
definitely the light discs, they turn him into a pile of rubble fast.

Plantera
get a chroynifightie (I can't remember how to spell it XD XD XD) partisan. Then build a large space around the bulb and defeat it.

Golem
Use strong weapons, not that hard. Break head and body to win.

Lunatic Cultist
Use the Eye of Cthulhu + high defense.

Pillars
Use your best stuff!

Moon Lord
Build a medium-size box and put nurse inside. Use solar flare and try to destroy hands and head at once and the core super fast or you're dead.

Duke Fishron
I do it post-Pillar and use solar flare. Build a water bridge. Dodge the tornados and it's all good!

And I don't remember what's good from here on out…
Exception being: Beetle armour and EoC yoyo for Lunatic Cultist.
My additions are bold. Nothing for mech bosses because I haven’t beaten them.

Why does everyone make their own posts and not say anything about mine now?
I don't remember some of the final bosses that well, sorry! My add-ons are in italics! Maybe we should do a modded one too? :) ;)

A Solar Eclipse is a Hardmode event that occurs rarely after at least one Mechanical Boss has been defeated.

You don't need to kill plantera to get a solar eclipse to occur.

Terraria Wiki wrote:

In 1.3, only mothron can drop broken hero swords, but you still don't have to defeat plantera to get the terra blade.

pretty cool that one of the best swords in the game is pre-plantera imo.

Plantera (thanks Greenduck54)
Fairly easy on normal, basically impossible on expert.

Equipment:
- A good pair of wings: preferably at least Harpy
- Terra blade and death sickle are really helpful
- Shield of Cthulhu if possible
- Chlorophyte, turtle or tiki armour is good (note: can't you only get tiki after beating the boss though?)
- Chlorophyte shotbow and megashark + chlorophyte bullets is good
- Magic harp and crystal serpent are good weapons, combined with ichor effect from golden shower
Expert mode drop is the spore bag, which drops slow-homing spores for some extra damage.
Try a long platform(around 150 or 300 blocks long) with a teleporter at each end. Link the teleporters with wire and use levers to activate them.
Get a long range weapon with sufficient ammo.
Initiate combat.
Lure Plantera to one end of the platform, then teleport to the other side. Shoot down the platform. Teleport when you see Plantera. Shoot at Plantera. Rinse and repeat.
If you're worried about Plantera getting too close, you can open up the minimap and watch Plantera's icon so you can teleport earlier.
or, y'know, just use wings…
In Expert Mode, Plantera is faster than normal. I found it easier to survive using teleporters.
(I forgot to say that those were my suggestions for Expert Mode, when you said it was “basically impossible on expert.”)
why am i not getting notifications that people are posting stuff

The pure fact that your house exists in the world seems to attract sacrastic shopkeepers. Wonder what's up with that.
Don't worry about the food: most of them seem pretty happy without it and I'm pretty sure the Angler's already dead, what with vanishing with 0 health left and all that.
