It's a necropost because, like normal necroposts, it bumped an old topic, which hadn't seen a post from it's OP for some time. However, it's on an ITopic, so it is allowed.

If a topic has already been resolved and no one has been posting on it for a long time, its considered dead. (most likely, people would have forgotten that it even existed) There wouldn't be any point in bumping up a thread that no one is watching anymore.

Yep - bumping old topics without adding new and relevant information counts as necroposting.

LOL - while bumping old ITopics aren't considered necroposting, lets not get too carried away with it. After all, bumping an old ITopic is not a problem, but bumping it without contributing to the thread is.

Yep - that's necroposting. Its important to check the date of the posts before posting - that's the best way to preventing situations like this.
