Sprites can go off the screen
I think many of us want this feature:
Sprites can go off the screen. Their position isn't setted to another, if the rotation-point too far outside. So scriolling would be much easier. Also with 2.0 came a small change with heavy damage. Sprites can't go so deep or high like in 1.4. This bug crashed many of my games. Also it's very annoying when a sprite in a scrolling project stucks at the edges and to will not disappear or disappears and appears very suddenly.
But what is with the new Scratchers? I think they are the reason, why sprites can't move off the screen. (maybe the touched block and other technique problems are a reason, too) To make it also easy for them the project could get a checkbox “allow sprites to move off the screen”. Or sprites can move so far off the screen until they are completly invisible, but not further.
Also you can add, that when you right-click a sprite you can choose the option “go back to screen” to make the sprite visible again, when you lost it.
What do you think?
EDIT:
i tested the touching sprite block and it shows also true when both are off the screen. Also other languages like java havn't this problem, too.

Sprites can go off the screen
I think that if the Scratch team doesn't want sprites to be off the screen for overload issues or issues with finding said sprite, they should at least implement an allowable range, say, 200 steps in each axis (x&y).

yes, that's what i ment with move so far until they are invisble but not further. At the moment bigger sprites can move further than small sprite, so i think its possible to make them move a little bit further. Otherwise i have to use invisible gradients. They exist, but they are invisible, but this does not work together with the touched block, so i want this suggestion to be real

I think the idea to help the new scratchers with the extra Option is nice too!I support too! This feature would be nice. I think many of us want this feature:

Sprites can go off the screen
I definitely support this. This is required any time you want to make a game with a virtual camera, and it would save lots and lots of time when tracing doing 3d drawing or tracing rays because as of now you have to interpolate to fix it. This could potentially speed up 3d in scratch allot.

I support this. I NEED it for my new side-scrolling game really bad!
This is also my first post on the forums. I feel like there should be another sentence here, but I don't know what to write, so I'm just writing this instead.

Sprites can go off the screen
Support. There are workarounds, but it would be so much better if this was just implemented. After all, new Scratchers can “lose” their sprites with the hide block, but I don't see anyone wanting to remove the hide block because - surprise - it's really useful. There was actually a topic that the ST posted on, and they were considering it, but they've not said anything about it since December. Here's the topic.

Sprites can go off the screen
from original topic,
I support this ^^
add another checkbox under the sprite info pane under the ‘can drag in player’ and ‘show’ checkboxes called something like ‘can move off screen’.
I support this ^^
