How about put this in the Offline Editor over LAN instead of over the interwebz? LAN being, over your network, and just your network, like if a friend comes over to your house (that you know in real life of course) you can work on a project together. Might increase collaboration in Scratch clubs and the like.

Great idea. Also, I think that if you know networking, you can set up a server and get others on it. Support.

this could be for the offline version only.

In the offline version there could be an option to work with another user by logging into your account, then typing the username of the person you want to work with. A notification will be sent to the user that you want to work with, and it would include a verification code. Then he/she has to open up the Scratch offline editor and select another option saying “enter code”. The user then adds the code to the Scratch editor and then he/she would be able to work with the other user.

It is possible because there is a game/program called Craftstudio. It was made by one guy and in it you can work with multiple other people in real time.
